Department:Patient Financial Services

Works under the supervision of the Business Services Coordinator. Performs general clerical duties. Greets patients and public politely. Assists billing personnel in filing of documents and accounts. Answers phone for Business Services Department. Performs other duties as assigned.

Composes and types letters, liens, documents assisting business office personnel.

Enters detailed comments into the computer system.

Opens, sorts, and distributes incoming mail.

Greets patients and public politely.

Answers phone for Business Services Department, screening calls/patients and transfers calls/patients to appropriate staff.

Processes subpoenas.

Assists with bankruptcy process.

Responds to inquiries from collection agencies/physician offices.

Processes required documentation for charity care patients.

Prepares and delegates claims and bills to insurance clerks.

To be vigilant of co-members desk when vacant.

Maintains adequate office supplies.

Processes letters for mailing.

Maintains records and files account transaction, hard copy and computer system.

Answers inquiries accurately and courteously.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Education:

Work requires knowledge generally acquired through a high school education or GED.

Licensure:

None.

Experience:

One (1) to two (2) years of recent clerical experience, including computer experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

The hourly rate for this position is $28.26 - $34.35. The range displayed on this job posting reflects the target for new hire salaries for this position
