As the first “official” finance hire, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our financial strategy, ensuring fiscal responsibility, and supporting our journey towards becoming a world class software company. Reporting directly to the CEO, this position offers a unique opportunity to lay the groundwork for a critical function that will contribute to the organization’s continued success.Responsibilities
Lead annual planning, forecasting, and department budgetingIterate and improve the company operating model for scalability and best practicesSupport investor relations, including quarterly reporting and potential fundraising effortsOversee investment of cash accounts and overall health of the balance sheetParticipate in headcount planning, including employee compensationManage customer invoicing, vendor payments, and employee expensesOwn financial tech stack and iterate on tooling for optimal efficiencyCoordinate the annual financial audit process with external partiesSet up state-level tax profiles and ensure ongoing tax compliance, as well as file annual state and federal tax returnsQualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business or related field10+ years of experience in finance roles, with time spent in accounting or investment banking positionsPrior experience as VP/Senior Director of FP&A or Strategic Finance at Series C+ B2B SaaS start-upPreferred
Previous experience reporting to CFO or CEOExperience leading M&A transactionsNice-to-haves
