Sinclair has an exciting opportunity for a talented General Manager for our stations in Cedar Rapids and Des Moines. This is not a desk job! The successful candidate will have a commitment to new business development with pointed and aggressive sales techniques. We are looking for experienced General Managers and Sales Managers who are ready to take the next step.This role will serve as the VP, General Manager overseeing both Cedar Rapids and Des Moines jointly.In this position you will:Manage the physical, human and financial assets of the stations in both marketsAchieve budgeted financial goals and grow station's revenue shareHelp increase the station's viewing audience by serving the interests of the communityProtect the station's license through strict adherence to FCC rules and regulationsTrain, manage, and motivate all station personnel including sales staffManage television sales for the station including local, new business and new mediaTrain sales team to sell products and services via Digital Solutions and Mobile MarketingLead sales promotions and develop non-traditional revenue sourcesManage employee relations and station relationsManage and control sales revenue by developing strong relationships with local clientsTravel frequently between Des Moines and Cedar RapidsRequirements:4-7 years experience in a similar role in a TV station or in a Sr. Television Management roleHands on TV advertising sales and operational background a mustStrong and positive leadership skills requiredHighly skilled leader, negotiator and motivatorA minimum of 5 years management experience requiredCapable of effectively leading teams, achieving revenue targets and providing strong management across both locationsExcellent written and oral communication skills are a mustWord, Excel, PowerPoint and OSI preferredSinclair Broadcast Group, Inc. is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer and Drug Free Workplace!
