Job Summary & ResponsibilitiesYou will be part of our Inspection Business Unit engineering team for the Advanced Packaging products that includes inspection and overlay metrology technologies for defect detection and critical dimensions measurements.
You will manage a multidisciplinary engineering team for the inspection and metrology products that support the advanced packaging semiconductor market. You will manage a diverse team of engineers delivering platforms that include precision sample handling mechanisms, servo controls, vibration isolation, low particle contamination environments, power systems, electronic packaging, cabling, safety interlocks, etc. You will provide oversight of the designs via Engineering Vee process, ensuring rigor in meeting design phase gate design deliverables. You will provide leadership and coaching to further broaden skillsets within the platform team that develops system-level thinking. You will drive engineering accountability from requirements to product release and provide customer support as needed.
As part of the team, your responsibilities will include active participation in the solution of technology limiters and performance limiters, teamwork with your peers, and collaboration with other engineering groups, Marketing, PLC, and management teams!
Qualifications
Prior experience managing technical teams that delivered products to end customers. This includes hiring, coaching, motivating, and providing constructive feedback.
Understands and applies design review rigor and design for X techniques: such as design for performance, value, integration, outsource ability, manufacturability, maintainability, diagnostics, serviceability, total cycle time, COGS, quality, reliability, regulatory, etc.
Understanding of optical systems, lasers, detectors, and image sensors.
Experience in stage design and motion control systems and the measurements to validate subsystem performance specs.
Experience in design, specification, and development of platforms meeting micron level vibration.
Analytical skills, able to develop a system model and perform system error budget analysis.
Materials science background.
Experience with thermal modeling of electronic enclosures.
Managing the build and testing of prototype systems.
Supplier management.
Develop test plans for improvement projects and subsystem/system testing.
Engineering deliverables such as CAD Models, detail drawings, specs, BOMS, assembly procedures, test fixtures, subsystem specs, packaging and the ECO process.
Semiconductor regulatory requirements, not limited to CE, Safety, and ergonomics.
Proficient at project planning and managing several platform developments simultaneously.
Minimum QualificationsTypically requires Doctorate (Academic) and work experience of minimum of 10 years, Master's Level Degree or work experience of 15 years, Bachelor's Level Degree or work experience of 18 years.
