We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Vice President of Health and Clinical Integration to lead our efforts in expanding and integrating health and clinical services across our organization.

Your Mission:

As the Vice President of Health and Clinical Integration, you will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer. Your role will be pivotal in aligning health and clinical areas, disciplines, sites of care, and team processes to achieve CASL’s strategic objectives. You will collaborate closely with the Senior Vice President of Program Strategy to foster cross-functional integration. Your leadership will drive the development, implementation, and measurement of our health and clinical integration initiatives.

As a Vice President of Health & Clinical Integration you will:

Key Responsibilities:

Organizational and Strategic Leadership

Establish an integrated health model that furthers CASL’s next-generation care strategies to address individual and family Social Drivers of Health (SDoH) needs holistically.

Lead current health and clinical integration projects, including but not limited to:

Research and provide recommendations to CASL’s Executive Leadership and Board on primary healthcare partnership models that allow for the provision of quality and impactful primary care to CASL’s clients and community versus CASL becoming a primary care (FQHC) provider itself and then execute the buildout and oversight of it.

Buildout of CASL’s Community Health Navigation program as part of the South Side Health Equity Collaborative, a five-year collaboration between six health and clinical providers on Chicago’s south side to address and improve health disparities.

Expansion and refinement of CASL’s rapidly growing (depth and breadth) Behavioral Health and Clinical Service program to create a comprehensive behavioral health model.

Influence and drive health and clinical integration across the system, working closely with clinical and administrative leadership to design and implement change.

Responsible for the activities of health and clinical services including approach, facilitation of constituents, analysis of clinical process and services, negotiation, financials, and resourcing.

Develop key performance indicators to measure the success of health and clinical integration across CASL, ensuring CASL is meeting industry standards of care, overseeing the implementation process improvement efforts identified by the teams, and identifying and executing operational efficiencies.

Oversee or participate in multiple operational and Board/ad hoc committees and workgroups.

Develop, continually test, and refine integration and operational efforts to meet the needs of the system, employees, referring providers, and most importantly the patients/clients.

Drive integration and alignment of various clinical and operational strategies for the system.

Work collaboratively with the Center for Social Impact team to integrate CASL’s Salesforce data-informed processes with needed EHR/EMR platforms that allow for digital integration to drive collaborative care approaches and quality patient/client care.

Develop a collaborative team-based environment that works effectively across a system-wide programmatic approach, closely with health and clinical leaders and program leaders.

Operations and Management:

Leads and supports the Director of Behavioral Health and Clinical Services and rapidly expanding team in developing, operating, and integrating behavioral health services into CASL’s services.

Lead and support the Advance Practice Nurse in providing behavioral health and basic primary care services.

Lead and support the Associate Director of Community Health Navigator in the buildout and operation of patient and data coordination in furtherance of CASL’s role in the South Side Health Equity Collaborative and achievement of its goals.

Explores, implements, and monitors the sustainability of revenue strategies for CASL’s health division, including earned income through managed care, private pay/copays, and government grants/contracts.

Collaborate with the Advancement team to identify potential philanthropic funding sources to support identified project areas/needs.

Collaborate with the Marketing and Communications team to identify opportunities for external advertising of CASL’s health-related services.

Represents CASL at local, state, and national health-related meetings and coordinates CASL efforts with local, state, and national organizations.

Serve on the Steering Committee and be the lead point for CASL with the Southside Health Equity Collaborative and collaborate/report to other CASL sub-committee members.

Monitors trends, promising practices, and policy issues related to health center finance, operations, and transformation.

Serves as a senior leader, which includes actively participating on the leadership team, and serving as a role model and mentor for staff.

Participates as a member of the leadership team in the development of the annual operating plan, as well as longer-term strategic plans; prepares reports as required to the Board and Committees on activities to accomplish the strategic plan.

Establishes effective, high-touch relationships and communication with key partners including but not limited to members, funders, health care and public health leaders, and key decision makers.

Performs supervisory duties related to interviewing and hiring staff, recommending termination, managing performance, counseling, and providing training and development opportunities to employees.

Working with the health and clinical division leaders, oversees the implementation of grants, submits reports to funders as required, manages division and program budgets; serves as lead grant writer and/or editor for the division.

Must Haves

To thrive in this role, you should have:

A minimum of a master’s degree in healthcare, business, or a relevant discipline is required.

A minimum of ten years of experience in a healthcare leadership role within a healthcare entity.

Substantial working knowledge of integrated care models, specialty, and community health networks.

Sound understanding of the fundamentals of healthcare operations, clinical program development, and clinical integration planning, implementation, and ongoing oversight and management activities.

Experience in working with matrixed teams across an organization to identify opportunities, create goals, and execute plans successfully and timely.

Skills/Knowledge

Extensive knowledge and experience leading and managing complex organizational change and relationship development and management.

Demonstrated ability to skillfully counsel, collaborate, inspire, and build confidence in others; create alliances, obtain support and respect from diverse groups, and foster an understanding and commitment to the organization and teams involved.

Possess a track record of developing a good rapport with physicians, clinical, and administrative teams with the ability to grow and maintain relationships.

Demonstrated successful program development, change management, and relationship building in previous roles.

Proven success with administrative and clinical leaders to pursue operational excellence and exceptional patient services and outcomes. Leads with transparency, integrity, and authenticity.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Capable of functioning in ambiguous environments and handling multiple diverse tasks simultaneously.

Results-driven and system-thinking skills with the ability to provide thought leadership across a large, diverse, and complex organization.

Excellent analytical, tactical, execution, and organizational abilities are required. Works well in a fast-paced, dynamic, and multi-functional environment.

Ensure confidentiality of information is maintained appropriately by following CASL policies/procedures including State of Illinois regulations.

Physical Demands:

Required to frequently sit for extended periods.

Environment and Scheduling:

Work is performed during standard business hours of 9:00 am - 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday.

Must be flexible and available to work additional hours when necessary.

Nice to Haves

Familiarity with clinic payer sources, including Medicaid/Medicare is highly preferred.

A clinical background.

Familiarity with EHR/EMR systems.
