Job Description:The Team

Strategic Advisers LLC (SAI) is a leading innovator of managed account solutions for Fidelity Investments and currently the #3 ranked Managed Account platform in the industry. SAI has experienced tremendous growth in the last 3 years and is expecting further growth acceleration in the coming 3-5 years. SAI has a long history of delivering innovative solutions to the marketplace, driving better outcomes for clients, while offering increasing personalization. SAI leverages core capabilities of multi-asset class portfolio construction, third-party fundamental manager research, investment guidance, and financial planning. SAI supports all of Fidelity’s distribution channels, running discretionary managed accounts for Wealth Solutions and Workplace investing, while delivering model portfolios for Fidelity Institutional’s intermediary clients.

The Role

Reporting to the Head of SAI Investment Operations and Platform Services, the VP, Private Assets Investment Operations and Platform will lead an effort to integrate Private Asset support into the SAI operating environment, creating a frictionless experience for the SAI Investment team on a day-to-day basis, while designing platform capabilities to ensure the successful expansion of our Private Asset product offerings. This leader works with multiple organizations across Fidelity ensuring the delivery of this key business initiative and ongoing investment support:

Perform an E2E analysis of existing Private Asset support processes that span multiple organizations. Identify the optimal operating model and implement it; factoring in skillset, risk, capacity, and business need/fit.

Partner with a high performing team of SAI Product, Technology, Investment Professionals, and Investment Services as well as cross-company partners in Wealth and Brokerage to establish a new Investment Services operating model in support of Private Asset offerings within SAI.

Serve as a key point of escalation for issue resolution & service recoveries for the Private Asset offerings. You will actively manage operational risk, implementing mitigation and monitoring to limit exposure to Strategic Advisers.

Partner with the VP, Retail Ops and Platform to drive E2E Platform Strategy and Execution for SAI’s Managed Account Platform, supporting both Public and Private Assets. You will remove barriers to implementation and drive enhancements to platform scale, stability, and functionality.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

The successful candidate must be a proven leader with a minimum of 10 years’ experience leading multi-functional teams and a track record of delivering that achieve positive, measurable results.

Direct experience with Private Equity and Illiquid Alternative investments and products.

Managed Accounts or Investment Management business domain expertise across some combination of research, portfolio management, and trading and investment operations.

Strong industry exposure & experience in handling and managing Private Assets & Alternative data from various industry standard sources.

Knowledge of securities, corporate actions, financial statement analysis, street estimates, pricing, and performance data.

Expertise managing complex operational environments and associated technology platforms needed to support these environments.

Ability to seamlessly balance fast-paced daily operations and longer-term strategic efforts.

Ability to work in an interdependent, team-oriented environment and effectively manages resources and relationships both within and outside of one’s direct control.

Expertise with measuring and instrumenting key processes, driving process efficiency / automation initiatives, and data-driven decision making.

Ability to effectively influence, lead and motivate direct and indirect teams across multiple locations, and time zones, to support companywide objectives.

Intellectually curious, continuous learner, and innovative leader, leveraging emerging tools / technologies (robotic processing, AI, lean manufacturing) to advance business capabilities.

Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical users across all levels of the organization.

Fidelity's working model blends the best of working offsite with maximizing time together in person to meet associate and business needs. Currently, most hybrid roles require associates to work onsite all business days of one assigned week per four-week period (beginning in September 2024, the requirement will be two full assigned weeks).
