Overview

In partnership with search firm WittKieffer, Indiana University Health (IU Health) seeks a visible, dynamic, and distinguished executive to serve as its next President of Riley Children’s Health, the comprehensive pediatric health system of IU Health. Riley Children’s Health operates two hospitals with a total of 475 beds and provides outpatient care across 18 communities through a robust primary and specialty care network. It combines the specialization of a comprehensive pediatric system with the power of IU Health, the state’s largest health system, ensuring patients have access to groundbreaking research and innovative treatments to complement high-quality patient care. Faculty physicians within Riley Children’s are members of IU School of Medicine.

The President will embody IU Health’s mission; embrace its vision; and lead with respect, humility, and intellectual curiosity. The leader will demonstrate the highest moral and ethical traits and will understand the unique importance of a pediatric focus. This collaborative leader will interface frequently with IU Health leaders, IU School of Medicine faculty, Riley Health Foundation board members, clinical staff, patients, front-line team members, community and philanthropic partners, as well as serve as an ambassador for children’s hospitals and healthcare on behalf of the organization on the national stage.

The President of Riley Children’s Health must possess an unwavering passion and commitment to improving health outcomes and providing world-class care close to home for Indiana’s children and their families. This role is accountable for outcomes of the children’s hospital and for the rollup budget for all departments, financial planning and strategy, as well as capital investments. The President should be a values-based visionary healthcare executive with a minimum of five years of experience effectively working in a highly-matrixed and relationship-driven culture.
