The Staff Accountant will assist with the month-end process, prepare state filings, year-end statistical and state filings, and other duties as requested.
Duties & Responsibilities
Primary back-up for Daily Cash transactions JEPrimary back-up for Accounts PayableRun month-end reports from multiple systemsSort reports and prepare excel files used to book month end JEs.Complete the assumed reinsurance month-end journal entriesPrepare and complete month end reinsurance journal entries for one companyTrack intercompany expense entries and reporting for one companyJournalize credit card processing statementPrepare and complete monthly reconciliationsPrepare and complete Statutory and Premium filings as requiredAssist in filing annual statement and quarterly statementsScan documents into Image Right dailyFile journal entries and reconciliationsAssist with other projects as neededQualifications Required
Strong organizational and communication skillsStrong time management skillsProficiency with Excel, Word, Accounting Systems (Sage 100)Previous Accounting experiencePreferred
Bachelor's degree in accountingInsurance industry experienceStatutory accounting experienceOnline state filing experience preferredBenefits
