Job SummaryAs the Manager of Regulatory Affairs, this role advises the research, creative, application and commercial departments or customers on the safe use, regulatory compliance, regulatory strategy or advocacy for ingredients and products. This may include the execution of regulatory compliance reviews, the preparation of various documents supporting the regulatory compliance of these products or submission of registration/approval dossiers. In a regulatory landscape that is continuously evolving and with our customers increasingly aiming for more innovation and differentiation, you'll be working with and mentoring a team of dedicated Managers and Specialists and in close collaboration with perfumers, scent design managers, account teams and customers.This role will be reporting to the Director of Regulatory Affairs, Americas.Minimum Requirements:To be successful in this role you must have a minimum of 10 years of previous experience in a regulatory compliance role or a related field. A four-year College Degree in a Science-related field is preferred. You will need to demonstrate a strong solution-oriented mindset, innovative thinking, strong stakeholder management, strategic agility, and cross-functional collaboration and influencing skills.Responsibilities:STRATEGY & BUSINESS KNOWLEDGE (20%):Articulate and execute GRA Strategy. Understand the overall role of GRA both internally as well as in relation to contractors, regulatory authorities, and trade associations. Have a detailed understanding of the framework of regulations, product claims, or certifications applicable to a broad range of customer requirements and applications.ROLE KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (50%):Communicate effectively between departments and external associations with varying priorities. Operate effectively within our regulatory systems, documentation systems, and office systems. Provide customer support (internal and external) for ingredient/product safety and regulatory issues, including product compliance reviews and documentation. Successfully manage the vast majority of all regulatory needs (e.g., customer requests, regulatory changes, and requirements). Defend and convince the customer of the validity of the review/document in cases where regulatory reviews produce results that are counter to what is expected or desired. Coordinate review methodologies and establish best practice procedures. Participate in trade associations in a lead role specific to their expertise.TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE, IFF TOOLS (30%):Provide both guidance and mentoring to others as a subject matter expert. Demonstrate advanced system/regulatory expertise to facilitate meeting regulatory needs efficiently and effectively. Spot potential issues and raise concerns regarding relevant topics such as documentation and hazard communication. Maintain an advanced awareness of legislation, customer restrictions, and trade association agreements with regards to material issues. Provide technical support such as maintaining regulatory communications and creating standard reports such as regulatory/testing/risk reports. Show clear expertise in the use of processes, tools, and systems as needed (e.g., PLMIII/SAP for the purpose of regulatory reviews, the appropriate tools for documentation development).JOB REQUIREMENTS:Educational and experience requirements:Doctorate degree plus 3 years experience, or Masters degree plus 7 years experience, or Bachelors degree plus 10 years experience.SKILLS:Written and oral communication skills, problem-solving skills, decision-making skills, strategic thinking, collaboration, functional technical skills in relevant disciplines.Position follows a hybrid work schedule of 1-day in the Holmdel, NJ office.We are a global leader in taste, scent, and nutrition, offering our customers a broader range of natural solutions and accelerating our growth strategy.
