Learn more at www.averydennison.com.As the NA Controller, you will be responsible for all finance, accounting and controllership responsibilities for North America Identification Solutions. You will be the finance business partner to the North America IDS Leadership Teams and provide input in strategic financial planning, lead and manage the budgeting process, internal controls and oversee all sides of accounting operations for North America IDS. In this role, you will be working closely with the Global Finance Commercial team to influence NA Sales and Operations forecasting. Some key responsibilities include:Finance OperationsLead financial role for the NA IDS monthly/quarterly business review cycles including month end close and monthly forecast.Conduct regular site business reviews, working with business and financial management to develop, evaluate and monitor action plans that lead to operations cost savings.Own, drive and continuously improve the forecasting process for the region including the management of financial planning, reporting and analysis, including interpretation of results with the appropriate analysis and recommendations to improve business performance.In coordination with the IDS FP&A team, own and drive the annual operating plan process (AOP) in the business.Manage the IDS NA capital budget. Review AFEs (capital requests) for risk and return.Develop and maintain an excellent financial-control environment, including compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements as required.Ensure all controllership deliverables are met including but not limited to quarterly attestations, balance sheet review programs, internal and external audits and statutory compliance.Ensure results are in compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). Inform senior management of any concerns/issues.Ensure the NA operations & distribution sites understand the importance of controllership issues, within the finance teams and the wider organization.Establish strong cost, capital and working capital controls. Manage and improve all aspects of the NA balance sheet, including, but not limited to, cash, receivables, inventory, fixed assets, payables and accruals.Partner with NA operations to provide financial guidance on cost savings and plant productivity improvements.Employee Development & ManagementManage team of 6 finance and accounting professionals.Train and provide development opportunities for staff. Ensure annual goals are complete and communicated. Ensure Performance Management System is up to date and regular feedback is provided to staff members.Attract, retain and develop high potential talent.Model and promote the Corporation’s Code of Business Ethics and Values.Perform general management duties, exercising usual authority concerning staff, performance appraisals, promotions and terminations. Responsible for training and development of subordinate staff, estimating personnel needs, assigning work, meeting completion dates, interpreting and ensuring consistent application of organizational policies.Act as a team role model and change-agent.Positively lead and influence team members to partner together to achieve individual and business goals.Minimum QualificationsMBA in Finance, Accounting or related field or equivalent education and years of experience required.Over 15 years finance & accounting experience with deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP.5 years prior supervisory or management experience.Excellent analytical skills.Experience in specialty functions such as FP&A, manufacturing & cost accounting, planning and forecasting, compliance and procurement.Understanding of applicable computer systems, such as Google suite and Oracle.Well-developed leadership and project management skills.Excellent oral, presentation and written communication skills.Fluency in English is essential.Additional RequirementsTravel may be required as needed to visit manufacturing sites.Compliance with Company policies concerning maintaining a drug free workplace is required.Compliance with all Company policies is required including all safety policies and procedures.All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, protected veteran status or other protected status.
