JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Development Director
SUMMARY : The CAC Development Director will develop and execute fundraising and development strategies for CAC designed to increase revenues and promote public awareness of CAC’s mission and impact. The Development Director will work closely with the Executive Director (CEO) and Chief Program Officer (CPO) for overall fundraising and development strategies. The Development Director will also collaborate with Program Directors on existing special events and program specific fundraising activities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work with senior leadership to develop a comprehensive fundraising plan and strategies to increase revenue.
Identify, cultivate, and oversee stewardship of major donors, including individual, foundation, and corporate donors.
Develop and track proposals and reports for foundation and corporate fundraising.
Identify, cultivate, and maintain relationships with donors, corporate partners, and community organizations.
Lead and manage major gifts, planned giving, and annual fund development efforts.
Collaborate and coordinate with program directors in production of special events and grant writing.
With CEO and CPO, set annual budgets and monetary goals, and establish fundraising objectives.
Plan and execute fundraising approaches that build strong relationships with donors, emphasize the organization’s mission and impact, and encourage donor engagement and investment.
Develop and maintain a donor recognition program that celebrates and acknowledges donors’ contributions to the organization.
Work in conjunction with CPO and Program Directors to develop a cross-functional development team. Provide leadership and mentoring to staff involved in development activities.
Identify new grant opportunities; collaborate with CPO and Program Directors to coordinate grant writing and submissions.
Collaborate with communications staff and program directors to generate donor communications and marketing materials; generate newsletters and annual reports.
Monitor and analyze fundraising data to evaluate performance and adjust strategies as needed.
Perform other duties as required.
KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:

Knowledge of the mission and work of CAC.
Deep commitment and demonstrated passion for the organization’s mission and values.
Proven experience securing funding from a variety of sources, with a track record of achieving fundraising goals.
Excellent personal, verbal, and written communication skills; prior experience in public speaking and external relations.
Working knowledge of and ability to use current technology and software applications.
Ability to effectively represent the organization to a variety of stakeholders, including donors, volunteers, and partner organizations.
Ability to write and present compelling donor communications and marketing materials.
Excellent organizational skills; ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines while maintaining a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, Board members, and volunteers.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Public Administration, Non-Profit Management, or a related field. Minimum of five years’ experience in non-profit fundraising, with demonstrated success in major gifts, corporate and foundation giving, and special events. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered for employment into the position.
