Leverage supply chain / planning / logistics experience in implementation, maintenance, and enhancements of lab inventory management processes and systems (e.g.consumables, chemicals, cells and samples) in support of the Takeda R&D Lab Operations.Site Lead:

As an “inventory manager” assigned to one or more Takeda sites, acts as central point of contact to the R&D Lab Operations team, its scientists and external partners in the use of Takeda’s lab inventory management system (IMS) and work practices. Responsible for site inventory planning, issue resolution, applicable training, and master data management in alignment with region-wide inventory strategy.Project Management:

Initiate, lead and/or support small to large projects to improve the overall effectiveness of lab supply planning (e.g. S&OP) or utilization of Takeda’s lab inventory management systems and workstream practicesACCOUNTABILITIES:Develop fluency with Takeda’s R&D laboratory supply chain operations, including inventory management, procurement / order fulfillment and demand planning practices to s upport the enterprise laboratory inventory management system (IMS) expansion rollouts and long-term maintenanceAs an IMS “inventory manager” assigned to one or more Takeda sites, support:

Oversee activities and IMS transactions being performed by indirect reports acting in the “inventory operator” rolemaster data creation, review and long-term maintenanceapplicable site implementations followed by maintenance and continuous improvement of the use of lMSresolution of daily order exceptions in IMStraining and support to end-users to ensure their effective utilization of the IMS and adherence to established processespreparation and issuance of purchase orders through receipt and reconciliation with a three-way matchcoordination with Purchasing and Procurement functions to resolve invoice discrepancies or pricing issuesinventory turn data to identify slow-moving inventory, conducting appropriate cycle counting and reporting to influence Point of Use (POU) content in collaboration with R&D Lab Operations and end-userstrends and analyze data generated to provide KPI updates and improve inventory accuracyconstruction of simple forecasts at the item level to assist with buying and storage decisions, coordinating “Demand Planning – Order Management” function accordingly

Assist in the development of inventory budgets for the purpose of establishing acceptable inventory levels upon which internal / external performance can be measuredPartner with cross-functional stakeholders to design KPIs that enhance supply chain visibility, reduce costs, and improve overall operational efficiency; support the S&OP process with site-specific KPI dataStay informed about industry trends and best practices in laboratory / supply chain management and technology, and make recommendations for system enhancementsEDUCATION, BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:Minimum 5 years of relevant biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry business experience required; familiarity with regulated disciplines in a laboratory, warehouse or GxP setting preferredUndergraduate degree Life Sciences, Engineering, Operations, Pharmacy, Business Management, or related discipline required or with equivalent work experienceFamiliarity with supply chain principles and best practices, including demand planning, inventory optimization, production planning, and logistics management; experience with an ERP based system and master data management preferredPracticed analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving skills, able to assess complex data sets and identify optimization opportunitiesExperience working within a matrix organization and demonstrated ability to work across functions and regions, at all levels where the incumbent may not have direct authorityPrevious participation in process improvement initiativesDemonstrated record of task and goal completionDetail-orientated with a strong “get-the job-done” work ethicComfortable with ambiguityThis position is currently classified as “ hybrid” in accordance with Takeda’s Hybrid and Remote Work policy.Empowering Our People to ShineDiscover more at

U.S. Base Salary Range:$133,000.00 - $209,000.00
