Overview / Mission

The purpose of the Oklahoma Workforce Commission is to coordinate the development of the workforce needed to grow Oklahoma’s economy and Oklahomans’ prosperity. The CEO will work with the members of the Oklahoma Workforce Commission to implement and monitor the Oklahoma workforce strategic plan to align the talent pipeline with the needs of the economy. The CEO will lead the implementation office and hold the ultimate responsibility for deploying performance-based investments which achieve measurable results.

Outcomes

Development of an implementation plan to achieve the goals of the workforce strategic plan within 6 months; initial communication of the plan and ongoing reporting of results to the Commission, Executive branch, Legislative branch, stakeholders and the public.Budget formulation and oversight; reporting on deployment of financial resources on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.Establish performance-based measures/key performance indicators within 6 months that will allow tracking of success quarterly and annually.Meet and build relationships with various stakeholders in the workforce system; analyze and identify trends in the workforce system within 6 months.Coordination with all members of the workforce system to encourage policies which align the talent pipeline with the needs to grow the Oklahoma economy – annual and ongoing.Identify staffing needs and model within 3 months; acquire and manage/lead talent needed to fulfill approved strategic and implementation plans within 9 months.Core Competencies

Proven track record in workforce development or related fields, ideally at a senior leadership level.Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field preferred.Minimum 7 years of progressive leadership experience.
