From Azure Machine Learning to Azure AI Services to Azure OpenAI and everything in between, we are at the forefront of delivering critical AI capabilities to every person and organization on the planet to achieve more.Our team is looking for a skilled Senior Software Engineer who is enthusiastic about creating scalable, distributed, highly-available, and secure cloud services on the Microsoft AI Platform. We are developing solutions aimed at data scientists, IT administrators, and developers to enhance the experience of their customers with advanced AI capabilities.Required/Minimum QualificationsSecurity Clearance Requirements: Candidates must be able to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:The successful candidate must have an active U.S. Government Top Secret Clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) based on a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) with Polygraph. Failure to maintain or obtain the appropriate U.S. Government clearance and/or customer screening requirements may result in employment action up to and including termination.Clearance Verification: This position requires successful verification of the stated security clearance to meet federal government customer requirements. You will be asked to provide clearance verification information prior to an offer of employment.Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.Citizenship & Citizenship Verification: This position requires verification of U.S. citizenship due to citizenship-based legal restrictions. To meet this legal requirement, citizenship will be verified via a valid passport, or other approved documents, or verified US government Clearance.Additional or Preferred QualificationsExperience in development in the Kubernetes ecosystemExperience in building large scale cloud services, distributed systems, or operating systemsExperience developing applications hosted on top of Azure, AWS, or other similar cloud platformsAs a Senior Software Engineer on our team, you will participate in developing innovative solutions across AI Platform:Write concise and clean code with unit testsDesign and build scalable, high-performance services that are highly reliableAbility to work across teams in a large organizationDesign and implement new features as well as add functionality to existing systemsInvestigate pre-production and production issues, implement and deploy fixesParticipate in an on-call rotation (typically 24/7 for one week every 6-8 weeks)Develop and use automation to deploy and manage complex cloud services across multiple Azure cloud instances and regionsDefine and develop standardized, repeatable, scalable solutions to guarantee qualityDrive initiatives to gather and examine data across various metrics (e.g., system health) to enhance product development for new features, improved reliability, or guide decisions in engineering products.Be enthusiastic, self-motivated, and a great collaboratorBe passionate about making customers successfulMicrosoft is an equal opportunity employer.
