Job Summary:
The Director of Racquet Sports is responsible for all Racquet sports activity programming within the Club, including developing and promoting tennis, pickleball, and squash programs for all age groups (as applicable by the Club). The Director of Racquet Sports will organize clinics and private lessons that encourage participation in the Club's racquet activities and promote memberships to all potential prospects. Function as the Club's Racquet Ambassador to enhance the value of the Club.
Day-to-Day:
Direct and manage the racquet sports department to ensure financial performance meets budget requirements while achieving the Club's expense objectives, revenue, and profit objectives.
Drive the selection, hiring, coaching, mentoring, and educating of all racquet sports personnel in a manner that reinforces the Club’s values and philosophies and ensures the operation of the department meets company standards while providing an environment focused on excellent delivery of the company’s service culture (Three Steps) to exceed Member/Guest expectations. Must be able to interact with Members/Guests professionally, helping them with changes and last-minute requests as needed.
Organize, schedule, administer, and promote Member social events, leagues, round robins, drop-ins, ladders, tournaments, lessons, and all other racquet events, as applicable, that appeal to the membership to motivate health and wellness.
Develop and promote clinics, private lessons, and adult, junior, and senior programs.
Communicate with the Member Experience Team to market racquet events and specials.
Participate/conduct new Member orientation(s) into the racquet facility and programs available.
Ensure that courts and facilities are maintained in a professional and aesthetically satisfactory manner and that the environment is safe for all users.
About You:
Minimum of 3 years as a Tennis Professional. Director-level experience preferred.
USPTA certification is required with a minimum playing ability of 4.5+.
Possess financial management experience.
Required tennis instruction training.
Responsible for maintaining good conduct and safe working habits while in all areas and assuring that others are acting safely.
College degree preferred. High School Diploma or equivalent required.
