Responsible for providing assistance to the director, faculty, and students in academic advising, recruitment, admissions, student orientation, graduate student events, the evaluation and awarding of University fellowships, diversity recruitment, career counseling, and related programs.Application Review Date:

08/28/2024ResponsibilitiesAcademic and Student Advising:

Provides complex student services to management, faculty and students; advises faculty on policies and procedures; reviews students' progress; leads coordination of advising, rotations, and thesis committees.Recruitment and Admissions:

Advises on outreach strategies; plans outreach programs; evaluates transcripts; coordinates admissions meetings and sends letters.Department Policies:

Makes recommendations for program improvement; develops and administers new policies; advises on policy formulation.Supervision:

Trains and supervises staff; oversees work-study students.Graduate Affairs Office Assistance:

Tracks GAO expenses; assists with hiring processes; gathers data for reporting.Required Qualifications:Advanced knowledge of graduate student programs.Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.Strong advocate for diversity and inclusion.Excellent communication skills.Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.Salary & Benefits:This is a 100% full-time (40 hrs a week) exempt career position, which is paid monthly and eligible for UC Benefits. The budgeted salary range is $80,000.00 - $97,000.00.
