Description
The Finance Director will provide accounting and financial control work for the Finance Department.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Oversees capital assets projects, ensuring the organization’s goals are being met.
Compiles fiscal estimates and prepares fiscal reports as requested.
Ensures compliance with accounting procedures through observation, supervision, and testing.
Lead and supervise finance department staff on accounting, reporting, internal controls, budgeting, and other financial matters.
Investigate variances in budgets, reporting, internal controls, and general accounting; deploy measures to resolve variances.
Develops procedures that ensure collections are complete and current.
Develop and maintain financial accounting systems for cash management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit control, and petty cash.
Review bank and investment account reconciliations.
Review monthly results and implement monthly variance reporting.
Oversee the bookkeeping function, including maintenance of the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
Collaborate with the executive team to develop cost budgets for all operational aspects of the organization; manage project budgets, forecasts, and long-term strategic plans.
Performs other related duties as requested.
Requirements
Required Skills/Abilities:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Working knowledge of the organization’s applicable financial practices and procedures and a thorough understanding of state and federal rules and regulations.
Proficient with accounting software and standard office and accounting equipment.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
CPA designation highly preferred.
Five years of management experience in finance with a similar organization or with a major CPA firm.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

$60,000-$80,000
