The Program Director of Regulatory Science at the School of Pharmacy plays a vital role in the delivery, assessment, and management of a comprehensive Master of Science in Regulatory Science program tailored to meet the needs of aspiring professionals for the Pharma/biotech/device industry. Reporting to the Chair, Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, the director will teach a course each trimester in the curriculum. Additionally, as the Director of the MS program, this position will work with the Associate Dean, Graduate Education, and oversee all aspects of the program, ensuring its academic excellence, relevancy to progression, and alignment with institutional goals.University of the Pacific recognizes that diversity, equity, and inclusion are foundational to the success of our valued students and employees. We prioritize policy and decision-making that demonstrates awareness of, and responsiveness to, the ways socio-cultural forces related to race, gender, ability, sexuality, socio-economic status, etc. impede or propel students, faculty, and staff.Major Responsibilities of the Faculty Director include:Teaching one course each trimester of the program in coordination with the department chair.Identify, recruit, and mentor part-time and adjunct faculty to offer all the curriculum.Participating in, overseeing, and evaluating various aspects of the recruitment and student enrollment into the program.Maintaining, collecting, and evaluating students’ academic standings as it relates to the program.Facilitating the administration and evaluation of student events and programs that foster and promote career-mindedness, self-discovery, leadership, and personal well-being.Serving as liaison to the department, Pharmaceutical and Chemical Sciences Program, Jie Du Center, and industry to achieve the specific goals for the department.Fostering collaboration and interdisciplinary engagement among faculty, encouraging research and professional development initiatives.Directing the maintenance and updating of the catalog, website, brochures, and other programmatic documents.Fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment that promotes student engagement, collaboration, and professional growth.Overseeing day-to-day administrative operations of the program, including budget planning and resource allocation, scheduling, and compliance with school policies and procedures.In addition to the responsibilities above, the director will be responsible for the initial review and revision (if determined appropriate) of the program.Minimum Qualifications:Master of Science with Regulatory Certification in drug development or 10 years of experience in regulatory affairs.Experience in filing multiple regulatory approvals.Preferred Qualifications:PhD in life sciences, preferably in pharmaceutical sciences related fields.Experience in regulatory filings for drug, biological, and/or device (industry experience).Experience in reviewing filings for drug, biological, and/or device (FDA experience).Prior teaching experience in a university environment in part-time or full-time role.Solid knowledge of current Office software such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Internet, and Outlook email.Experience in providing administrative oversight to staff and student helpers.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as this position interacts regularly with both the campus community and the public.Solid English composition skills, as well as the ability to create, compose, and edit regulatory materials.Capacity to exercise diplomacy and deal effectively with people in a variety of circumstances in a calm, precise way.Ability to multi-task, organize resources, and establish priorities in a fast-paced, demanding environment.Must maintain strict confidentiality.Intermediate to advanced skills in MS Office suite, experience using databases, SharePoint, Canvas, and advanced experience in Internet searches.Ability to adapt to emerging technology.Experience and sensitivity in working with people of diverse backgrounds and cultures.Demonstrated experience in advancing social justice, equity, and inclusion in a university setting.Ability to engage and integrate culturally responsive practices and knowledge in their work.Physical Requirements:

Work is performed in a standard office environment and during standard business hours. In rare occasions, overtime may be necessary based on business needs.Hiring Range:

$125-150k (We consider factors such as, but not limited to, scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s qualifications, internal equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.)Special Instructions:
