The Digital Video Associate Producer I - Originals is tasked with the production and editing of narrative video content on ESPN-branded channels across social and digital platforms, especially YouTube. This role requires knowledge of digital media distribution and content creation. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and constantly innovating their approach to content technically, tactically, and creatively.Responsibilities:Edit high-end original longform and shortform video content for ESPN’s YouTube channel, as well as other social and digital platforms and linear TVWork with talent to write and refine scriptsCreate graphics (static and motion) that stand out in a social/digital environmentConduct research in the media asset management system to obtain material for the preparation of production elementsResearch, write and disseminate ideas for future content elements on ESPN platformsShoot video content in both studio and field environmentsProvide timely, accurate and complete delivery of multimedia elements, and publish to various platformsWrite titles and descriptions of videos, design thumbnail images, and add other elements in the publishing process, in order to maximize effectiveness of content on digital platformsProvide feedback for other editors on the teamCapitalize on data to drive content creationAccountable for strict adherence to established production department proceduresBasic qualifications:Strong knowledge of sports, including current athletes, events and storylinesStrong video editing ability in Adobe Premiere or Final Cut Pro. Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and After EffectsStrong storytelling skills, creativity and a passion for pitching and executing story ideas from ideation to publicationFluency in the YouTube mediascape and other emerging platformsMust possess demonstrated communication and organization skills, and ability to react quickly and positively under a wide variety of production situationsFamiliarity with ESPN programming and platformsPreferred qualifications:Video shooting experience, including lighting, camera and audioA minimum of 2 years in multimedia content production or related experienceRequired education:High school diplomaPreferred education:Bachelor’s degree in broadcasting, communications, journalism or a closely related fieldThe hiring range for this position in Los Angeles, CA is $52,398 - $70,290 per year based on a 40-hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
