$50,000 - $60,000Basic Function:

Oversee the athletic marketing department and create and implement inclusive, strategic marketing and promotion plans, managing in-game elements, producing innovative revenue generation strategies, and creatively enhancing the Kent State Athletics fan experience. Reports to Executive Senior Associate Athletic Director.Examples of Duties:Assist in the development and implementation of strategic marketing plans.Manage work of public relations agencies, marketing vendors and consultants.Spearhead efforts in creation and fulfillment of marketing plans and strategies in an effort to increase department revenue and attendance while continually improving the fan experience.Develop timing sheets, game scripts and plans, conduct and evaluate effectiveness of game-day promotional and entertainment activities and promotions.Serve as main game day producer in charge of execution of all game day related fan experience elements such as video board production, run of show, fan zones, etc.Lead the ideation, planning and implementation of cutting-edge promotions, fan engagement opportunities and other in-venue interactive activities.Collaborate with campus and community stakeholders in support of marketing and promotion of athletic events and initiatives.Oversee budget for Kent State Athletics and promotions.Assure successful outcomes by adopting best-practices project management methodologies, quality assurance metrics, and risk mitigation plans.Develop and maintain robust and impactful marketing internship program.Serve as the primary liaison with the Kent State Spirit Squad and mascot, including budget oversight.Coordinate the production of print materials.Assist with the coordination of game day marketing.Coordinate the distribution of marketing materials.Coordinate radio and print agreements and advertisements.Proactively market to the student population to increase student attendance.Supervise unclassified marketing staff as assigned, including making hiring and disciplinary recommendations and conducting performance evaluations.Assist in the maintenance of financial records for athletic and other events; assist in the preparation of records for internal and external audits.Perform related duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business management, or relevant field. Two years of professional experience in marketing and/or sales.Knowledge Of:National Collegiate Athletics Association and Mid-American Conference rules and regulations.Sales management principles and practices.Basic bookkeeping/accounting principles and procedures.Microsoft Office Suite software applications.Skill In:Written, verbal and interpersonal communication.Customer service.Ability To:Function well within a team-oriented environment.Analyze situations and develop solutions.Travel to athletic events.Supervise temporary and student employees.Operate a cash register.Work evening and weekend hours.Meet customer needs while adhering to university policies.Maintain a pleasant and helpful manner under stressful conditions.Provide superior customer service and be a positive representative of KSU and KSU Athletics.Preferred Qualifications:Master's degree in a relevant field. Three years' experience in athletics marketing, promotions, special events, or administration.Preferred experience with football game operations and ticket office collaboration.Working Conditions / Physical Requirements:Light work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently to move objects. Incumbent must be able to communicate with others.
