The Division of Land-Grant Engagement at West Virginia University is currently accepting applications for a Chief of Division Operations.

About the OpportunityThe Chief of Division Operations reports directly to the AVP/Dean of the Division of Land-Grant Engagement and serves as the principal aide addressing high-level issues, policies, and complex situations involving a cross section of college and university units. The position manages confidential and sensitive issues for the AVP/Dean and develops proposed solutions to a wide range of issues. The Chief of Division Operations represents the AVP/Dean in many interactions with administration, faculty, staff, students, alumni, visiting committees, division advisory committee, and other key constituents of the Division. The incumbent communicates the AVP/Dean's position and priorities and researches and prepares analyses on a variety of matters.

What You'll Do

Serve as a member of the AVP/Dean's senior leadership team engaged in setting priorities, crisis planning, problem solving, managing change, and advocating support for decisions.

Research a wide variety of issues and prepare analyses and summary reports.

Manage and oversee all operations of the AVP/Dean's Office, including oversight of administrative support staff.

Manage requests to the AVP/Dean from both internal and external sources.

Carry out faculty promotion and tenure tasks in support and/or on behalf of the AVP/Dean.

Oversee special projects, high-profile events, and conferences.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in business management, organizational development, or a related field. Master's degree is preferred.

A minimum of 3 - 5 years of supervisory and administrative experience working in a complex organization, preferably in higher education.

Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience will be considered.

All qualifications must be met by the time of employment.

Requirements

Valid driver’s license for independent travel throughout the state.
