Chicago - Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine (SSOM) and Loyola Medicine seek an accomplished academic neurosurgeon with a successful track record of leadership and clinical excellence to serve as the Chair of the Department of Neurosurgery. Furthermore, Loyola has a strong relationship with Edward Hines, Jr. VA Hospital located adjacent to LUMC’s campus.The Department of Neurosurgery distinguished faculty members provide top-tier clinical services and scholarship recognized locally and nationally. The Department has a rich history and is renowned across various disciplines including excellence in cranial base surgery, comprehensive stroke, spine surgical care, peripheral nerve injuries and disorders, as well as the treatment of benign and malignant tumors. Over the years, the Department has cultivated exceptional neurosurgeons through its residency program and endovascular neurosurgery fellowship program.The successful candidate will be a nationally respected surgeon and a visionary leader with demonstrated experience in setting strategic goals, inspiring and mentoring teams, and working collaboratively. The position requires a thorough understanding of the complexities of an academic health system with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
