St. Thomas More Catholic School

is located in Lynnwood, Washington, and has served as an academic and spiritual center for families seeking a Catholic education since 1966. We are a community serving families strong cultural traditions and backgrounds. St. Thomas More Parish School has an enrollment capacity of 250 students and is comprised of Pre-K classes and one classroom per grade from kindergarten through 8th grade. St. Thomas More School is a part of the parish family which includes Holy Rosary.

Minimum Requirements:

Practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church.

Current Washington State Principal Credential. Candidates who are in the process of obtaining their administrative credential will be considered.

Candidates should have experience to successfully assume leadership and responsibility for the day-to-day operation and administration of the school, including a focus on increasing enrollment and financial health.

Experience working with key school and parish community members such as the Pastor, Pastoral Administrator, Pastoral Assistant for Administration, School Commission, and parents/ guardians to ensure the vitality of our collective school community.

Responsibilities and Key Competencies:

Is a fully catechized, faith-filled Catholic disciple who integrates the Catholic faith and values into daily life.

Motivates, by example, active participation in the life of the parish including attending Sunday Mass and other seasonal liturgies.

Ensures the development and implementation of an overall learning environment, which promotes Catholic faith formation/education, Christian virtues, moral and ethical decision making, Catholic social teaching, and Christian leadership.

Collaborates with the Pastor, School Commission, Finance Council, and other parent/teacher organizations.

Collaborates with faculty, and staff for the implementation of all policies and programs of the school.

Ability to effectively delegate.

Effective analytical and decision-making skills.

Models and sets the highest of standards of performance for professionalism, accountability, integrity, and transparency for self and others.

Is a forward-thinking, creative leader. Inspires and leads with optimism and enthusiasm.

Ensures the development, implementation, and evaluation of a comprehensive curriculum program, which complies with Archdiocese requirements.

Has a demonstrated track record of fostering academic excellence by setting and pursuing the highest of academic standards.

Embraces the use of, and integrates, technology into the classroom.

Supervises, develops, and evaluates certified staff, ensuring that the proper elements of instruction are implemented; coordinates the teacher supervision and evaluation processes/professional growth process.

Ensures the development of policy and process for discipline and the formation of students.

Ensures the integration of the school as part of the parish faith community and enables staff to serve as role models for students.

Ensures the supervision of certified and support staff. Oversees the recruitment, hiring, training, motivation, evaluation, and termination processes. Oversees the formulation and implementation of instructional goals and objectives for individual teachers; provides for instructional resources and professional development for teachers.

Possesses strong organizational and time management skills.

Demonstrates sound fiscal knowledge and is experienced in the budgeting process.

Works directly with the School Commission to develop and implement a long-range financial plan for the school, including fund solicitation, fund-raising, and endowment programs.

Demonstrates integrity and fairness when addressing student accountability and consistently applies school policy in an equitable manner that is consistent with St. Thomas More’s mission.

Leads emergency planning and crisis management procedures.

Ensures the preparation and submission of all necessary reports in compliance with the state and the Archdiocese Office for Catholic Schools. Adheres to all applicable state and Archdiocesan safety and health regulations.

Oversees school enrollment and advancement efforts for student/ family retention and community engagement.

Excellent communication (oral and written), organizational, and time management skills.

Acts with confidence and leadership.

Demonstrated ability to engage others in difficult conversations and manage conflict.

Highly collaborative and constructive relationship with the Pastor.

Builds and fosters positive relationships with parish and school families.

Seeks input from all constituents, including those with different points of view.

Networks with and connects to community resources.

Participates with other secular and private schools in the community in facilitating joint programs and/or the acquisition of joint services with local school districts.

SALARY & BENEFITS

Salary Range starting at $110,000. Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, degrees, and certifications.
