Job Summary:
We are seeking an accomplished and visionary Director of EPC Projects to lead and oversee our portfolio of power utility projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for strategic planning, execution, and delivery of all EPC projects, ensuring they align with the company’s goals and industry standards. This role requires a strategic leader with extensive experience in managing large-scale EPC projects within the power utility sector.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
Develop and implement the strategic vision for the EPC department, aligning with the company’s overall objectives.
Lead and manage a team of project managers, engineers, procurement specialists, and construction managers.
Project Portfolio Management:
Oversee the entire portfolio of EPC projects, ensuring successful delivery on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess project performance and implement corrective actions as needed.
Engineering Oversight:
Ensure engineering designs meet regulatory requirements, industry standards, and client specifications.
Facilitate collaboration between engineering teams and other departments to optimize project outcomes.
Procurement Strategy:
Develop and execute procurement strategies that maximize efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Negotiate major contracts with suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring favorable terms and conditions.
Construction Management:
Oversee all construction activities, ensuring adherence to project plans and specifications.
Ensure all construction activities comply with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
Stakeholder Engagement:
Act as the primary liaison with clients, regulatory bodies, and other key stakeholders.
Foster strong relationships with stakeholders to support project success and business growth.
Risk and Quality Management:
Identify and mitigate risks across the project portfolio.
Implement and uphold rigorous quality assurance processes to ensure project deliverables meet or exceed client expectations.
Financial Oversight:
Manage the EPC department’s budget, ensuring financial targets are met.
Monitor project financials, including costs, revenues, and profitability.
Qualifications:
We do not sponsor employees for work authorization in the U.S. for this position.
Essential skills and experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
Minimum of 15 years of experience in managing large-scale EPC projects, within the power utility sector, with prior experience in an Operations leadership role highly desired.
Demonstrated success in delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
Strong knowledge of engineering principles, construction methods, and procurement processes.
Exceptional leadership, strategic thinking, and communication skills.
Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, Procure).
PMP or similar project management certification is highly desirable.
Deep understanding of industry standards and regulations (e.g., IEEE, NEC, OSHA).
Work Environment:
This position requires both office and fieldwork. The candidate must be willing to travel to project sites as needed.
