DESCRIPTIONWe're seeking someone to join our team as a Director in Wealth Management Operations on the Morgan Stanley Bank Operations Oversight team to support documentation, measurement, analysis, and mitigation of operational risk for the US Banks.

In the Operations division, we partner with business units across the Firm to support financial transactions, devise and implement effective controls and develop client relationships. This is a Team Specialist position at the Director level within Risk, Regulatory & Resilience, which performs various independent functions to ensure adequate controls are in place. We do this by providing an integrated risk and control framework to govern, assess, mitigate and manage financial and operational risk in Operations.

What you'll do in the role:

Serve as a subject matter expert within functional area, working with Team Manager to manage processes, risks and/or projects, proposing and implementing improvements/changes.

Act as key problem solver for area or expertise, applying detailed knowledge to address unique or novel situations, recognize risks and draw out key issues.

Coordinate work, train and develop other team members where required, including task allocation, and project contribution.

Produce key Operations reporting to Senior Management of MSBNA and MSPBNA. Identify, collate, and report KRIs/KPIs to measure operational bank business risk.

Serve as day-to-day operational support via oversight and central point of escalation for Operations areas supporting the U.S. Bank Entities.

Work with various product areas to establish the correct booking and support structure for products affecting the U.S. Bank Entities.

Oversee and implement U.S. bank regulatory initiatives as they apply to Operations.

Work with Bank Management on strategic initiatives including expansion of the Bank into new product offerings and cost optimization planning.

QUALIFICATIONSWhat you’ll bring to the role:

Ability to lead by example, work with drive and determination, and put forward challenging views to senior levels.

Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of functional area and operational/compliance policies and procedures of their team.

Ability to operate independently across the majority of day-to-day responsibilities.

Culture carrier across Operations, embracing the Firm's core values and acting as a role model.

Ability to identify key control points within a process, and then provide assessment of the preventative and detective controls.

Ability to meet tight deadlines and has an execution-focused approach.

Experience in risk management related to daily processing, escalation of issues and proposed resolution.

Understanding of U.S. banking industry and key regulations applicable to Morgan Stanley businesses.

At least 5 years’ relevant experience would generally be expected to find the skills required for this role.
