Trident Seafoods is the largest vertically integrated seafood harvesting and processing company in North America. Species harvested and processed by Trident include virtually every commercial species of salmon, whitefish, and crab harvested in the North Pacific and Alaska. The global supply chain also includes cultured and wild species from a network of trusted sources worldwide.The Director, Human Resources Business Partners serves as a change leader and trusted advisor to the business across various strategic people priorities and operational HR issues, including talent management, strategic workforce planning, people development, organization effectiveness and design, employee relations, and DEI practices.We are excited to share this unique opportunity for a motivated HR Leader who wants the opportunity to design, build, lead, and develop a global HR Business Partner organization responsible for shaping and executing our strategic people agenda.This position is an integral part of the Global People Leadership Team responsible for driving exceptional business performance. In addition to bringing a strong breadth and depth of HR acumen to the role, this leader brings commercial credibility to the HR organization. By leading a diverse team across many locations and geographies, this role will design the future HRBP organization to deliver exceptional service and value for our people through creative, pragmatic and impactful solutions.Essential functions (responsibilities, tasks, supervisory needs)Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.Responsible for the quality and responsiveness of HR Business Partners and other team members providing HR services and administering programs including addressing complex employee relations issues, policy interpretation, training needs, compliance, corrective action procedures, and hiring/termination support. Serves as point of escalation for team members to address ideas, issues and concerns. Ensures the team has the tools, resources and knowledge to execute key organizational initiatives.Partners with senior commercial and functional leaders to assess business objectives, organizational structure, develop innovative people solutions and consistently execute agreed upon plans.Creates innovative solutions to elevate the ways we advance all our people, from executive succession planning to new leader training; this role is responsible for building a talent development ecosystem.Actively partners with leadership to develop and execute short- and long-term plans that effectively address tactical as well as strategic business priorities. This entails a variety of areas – including, but not limited to: talent management, employee engagement, succession planning, global org design, etc.Identify and utilize people insights/analytics to drive meaningful action and evidence-based decision-making.Manages a team of employees, including hiring/terminations, leading and developing team members. Removes roadblocks, pushes communications, encourages, and assesses performance. Embraces problem-solving as a learning experience.Acquires knowledge of Trident’s Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions.Notifies designated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and/or safety trainings.This is a salaried exempt position with an annualized salary range of $245,000 to $275,000.Trident Seafoods offers a comprehensive and quality benefits package. For full-time employees, the initial vacation benefit starts at 10 days per year, adjusted commensurate with relevant experience, and 7 days of sick leave per year (9 in Seattle), accrued bi-weekly. Commuter and transit programs are also available.Required Qualifications (education, years of experience, KSAs)A combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree and 10 years of directly related, progressively responsible experience.8+ years of people leadership experience.Experience in a manufacturing environment.Strong capabilities in Talent Management, Organizational Design and Performance Management.Strong business acumen.Exceptional interpersonal and coaching skills, clear and compelling communicator and a careful and active listener.Strong relationship builder with the agility to connect with diverse people across all positions, locations, and geographies.Proven ability to prioritize, be nimble, and stay focused on what’s most important.Strong problem-solving skills, pragmatic, and excellent judgement.Brings a balanced quantitative and qualitative approach to accountability and performance metrics.Ability to lead confidently from the front as well as through others when implementing and navigating change. Understands the importance of bringing personal energy and optimism to help energize others.Preferred education and experience:Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field, advanced degree strongly preferred.Experience leading a global HR organization.Multi-country HR experience.Food manufacturing experience.Work environment:This job takes place in a typical office environment: temperature controlled with adequate lighting and has moderate noise.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly sits for long periods of time using a computer, is required to stand and walk; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects or controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, or crouch.
