Description:We are seeking an experienced and strategic Corporate Legal Director to lead our legal, compliance and risk management programs. This role is critical in ensuring compliance with international laws and regulations while proactively supporting our growth and strategic initiatives through partnership with our Executive Leadership Team and broader organization. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of corporate law, strong leadership skills, experience managing external advisors and experts, and experience in a fast acting, high growth manufacturing business.
Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Manage a team of Contract Specialists to efficiently review and advise the business on commercial, procurement and other contracts.
Assess, improve and build-out our global network of external legal counsel and advisors, and manage on an ongoing basis.
Advise the Executive Leadership Team on legal matters, disputes and business contract negotiations. Strong partnership with the sales and commercial teams regarding customer contracts,
Help refine the internal and external compliance framework for the company and as we continue to grow and expand globally.
Provide legal advice and guidance to ensure statutory compliance with existing law and regulatory requirements.
Integrate acquired businesses into our legal structure, contracts, etc.
Lead contract and compliance activities in highly regulated industries such as military contracts and other highly regulated businesses (medical, nuclear, etc.).
Manage our risk management and business insurance programs through partnership with external advisors and insurers.
Continually lead internal legal compliance audits and ensuring recommendations are disseminated and implemented.
Liaise with external lawyer handling legal matters on behalf of the Company including employment law matters, as necessary.
Hiring and development of talent.
Requirements:Qualifications and Educational Requirements:
Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent legal degree from an accredited institution.
10+ years of experience in corporate law, preferably in a manufacturing environment with international operations.
Extensive knowledge of corporate, commercial, and international law, including experience with regulatory compliance and risk management.
Experience dealing with highly regulated industries, customers and contracts (military, government, pharmaceutical, nuclear, etc.).
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with senior executives and external stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
