PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
Responsible for all financial aspects of Bristol Bay Area Health Corporation's (BBAHC) operational activities, including the safeguarding of assets, the preservation of revenue streams and the efficient utilization of resources while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements. Additional responsibilities include directing fiscal department operations in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) issued by regulatory and advisory organizations and in accordance with financial management techniques and practices appropriate within the healthcare industry.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Bachelor's Degree in accounting, or equivalent, plus five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in a healthcare setting. Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Master's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business (MBA) is desired.
2. Must demonstrate the ability to understand, apply, and analyze computerized accounting and information systems. Must demonstrate the ability to supervise others and maintain cooperative relationships.
3. Must possess an understanding of Indian Health Service and Alaska Tribal Health Systems.
4. Must demonstrate the ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents, respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints, and make effective and persuasive presentations on controversial or complex topics to the Board of Directors and others.
