In this role, you will lead a high-performing team of data scientists, and bring the analytical rigor required to solve complex, ambiguous, and high-visibility business challenges to drive growth, engagement, and Merchant Integrations of PayPal Checkout. You and your team will work cross-functionally with senior leaders from product, engineering, design, and marketing teams to build world-class products by making strategic recommendations via investigative deep-dives and hypothesis-driven experiments.

Your day to day:

Challenge the status quo, and drive data backed decision makingPartner closely with product leaders to understand new product offerings being built and recommend the right metrics to measure the performance of those featuresIdentify key metrics, conduct rigorous explorative data analysis, create executive facing dashboards and build business cases that drive decision making and business prioritizationAnalyze consumer product performance and health, triage issues, and provide recommendation on the best course solution and optimization.Synthesize large volumes of data with attention to granular details and present findings and recommendations to senior-level stakeholdersCollaborate with engineering and data engineering to enable feature tracking, resolve complex data and tracking issues, and build necessary data pipelinesDefine and cultivate best practices in analytics instrumentation and experimentationSupport multiple projects at the same time in a fast-paced, results-oriented environmentCoach and mentor a small group of team members on day-to-day delivery

What do you need to bring:

At least 7 years of experience analyzing large, multi-dimensional data sets and synthesizing insights into actionable solutionsAt least 2 years of experience in managing data science and analytics teamsB.S. in a quantitative field, advanced degrees preferredFamiliarity with SQL and at least one scripting language such as Python or R, comfortable working with large, complex, and potentially messy datasetsUnderstanding of statistics (e.g. hypothesis testing, statistical inference, regression) and experience designing and evaluating complex experimentsExceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, to influence cross-functional teamsStrong interpersonal skills and experience leading cross-functional teamsPrior work experience in a product analytics space would be highly valuedA passion for problem-solving and comfort with ambiguity

The U.S. national annual pay range for this role is $96,900 to $234,300.
