The Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games will be hosted in Los Angeles, California in 2028, returning to the United States for the first time in over 30 years. 2028 will be the first time LA hosts the Paralympic Games, creating an opportunity to expand awareness, understanding and inclusion of people with disabilities.

The LA28 organizing committee is an independent, non-profit organization that is privately funded and governed by a board of directors.

The VP, Business Affairs will negotiate key agreements across all business lines of LA28 and must have experience in business affairs. This executive will work closely with members of the legal department who will support the legal side of the negotiations, as well as the business/operations lead requiring negotiation support, requiring both technical and layperson communication skills. This position will leverage negotiation, relationship-building, critical-thinking and communication skills to support the needs of the organization. Potential negotiations include venue use agreements, licensing arrangements, vendor agreements, marketing and content-creation support, and live event and ceremonies contracting.

This position will report to the Chief Administrative Officer.Key Responsibilities:

Serve as an advisor to senior management and division heads on identified transactions.Steady stream of self-directed analytical work, meetings, decision-making and draft reviewing, including preparing business terms, reviewing and negotiating all varieties of agreements.Work closely with individual departments to manage transactions to achieve budgetary goals (or savings).Supervise, monitor and assist in the career development of all subordinates' direct reports.Background & Qualifications:

Juris Doctor degree from an ABA accredited law school preferred.Experience in sports, media/entertainment, live-events or internationally is a plus.Knowledge of guild and union agreements and contracts.Local candidates preferred.Position Requirements:

Undergraduate degree required; graduate degree preferred.Expectations:

The pay scale provided is the range that LA28 reasonably expects to pay as starting base compensation for this role. All LA28 compensation remains subject to final determination based on individual candidate qualifications, experience, or other reasonable criteria consistent with LA28’s operational business needs and applicable law.
