Salesforce is seeking a passionate and highly skilled Software Engineer to join our team in developing an advanced Generative AI platform. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Python, algorithm design, large-scale backend development, and experience in machine learning, with a particular focus on Generative AI technologies. This position requires a passion for building innovative AI products and the ability to operate in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Your Impact:Own and drive development tasks such as coding and feature verifications as part of release commitments.Proactively highlight issues and resolve them as quickly as possible.Participate daily in stand-ups.Self-coordinate as part of the delivery team.Provide technical guidance to colleagues.Advocate for technical excellence and collaborate to help the team make good decisions.Translate architecture into technical planning and execution.
Key Responsibilities:Algorithm Development and Prototyping:
Develop components of the platform’s Generative AI capabilities, focusing on Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems, Agentic workflows, and other state-of-the-art generative techniques. Design and implement advanced algorithms to enable innovative AI features in the platform. Rapidly build prototypes to experiment with new algorithms, techniques, and open-source technologies.System Design and Performance Optimization:
Build and optimize large-scale backend systems, considering throughput and latency. Apply performance optimization techniques such as parallel processing, stream processing, and asynchronous I/O to improve the efficiency and scalability of the platform.Code Review and Refactoring:
Write clean, modular, and maintainable code. Read and digest existing codebases, perform code reviews, and refactor code to improve modularity, performance, and maintainability.Implement Evaluation and Diagnostics Tools:
Implement evaluation, logging, and tracing mechanisms to facilitate debugging, diagnostics, and performance tracking of the platform.Demo Development:
Develop demos to showcase new features and the latest product innovations to collaborators and potential customers.
Required Skills & Qualifications:Strong Python Programming Expertise:
Proficiency in Python, with extensive experience in algorithm design and the ability to evaluate different algorithmic approaches for optimal performance.Algorithm & Data Structures:
Strong foundation in algorithm design and data structures, with the ability to defend choices, articulate design decisions, and remain open to alternative approaches.Code Quality & Refactoring:
A keen sense of code quality and a commitment to writing clean, maintainable, and modular code. Experience refactoring existing codebases to improve modularity and performance.Backend System Development:
Experience building large-scale backend systems with a focus on performance, scalability, and low latency. Familiarity with performance optimization techniques such as parallel and stream processing, as well as asynchronous I/O.Generative AI Experience (Preferred):
Experience with Generative AI technologies, including RAG systems, Agentic workflows, or open-source frameworks such as LangChain and LlamaIndex, is a strong plus.
