Summary of Duties:

Responsible for developing and leading the GPO’s sourcing strategy across food procurement categories.

Manage complex relationships across various stakeholders, including suppliers, distributors, and manufacturers.

Lead the strategic sourcing team to leverage scale and market intelligence to optimize results across the portfolio.

Collaborate with other key leaders to serve the membership.

Ensure satisfaction of Advisory Boards with both strategic and operational portfolio results.

Develop and administer sourcing policies and procedures, ensuring the highest levels of ethical standards and rigor.

Responsibilities:

Oversee operational management of Food program, including the cross-category sourcing plans and classes of trade.

Lead execution of strategic initiatives in partnership with required departmental leaders.

Identify and implement opportunities for efficiency in collaboration with business partners.

Provide coaching and developmental support to departmental staff, focusing on the attraction, retention, and engagement of top talent.

Partner with peers to achieve desired business results for the company.

Cultivate and maintain long-term, collaborative relationships with key stakeholders, such as Advisory Board members, as well as key suppliers.

Stay current on issues affecting the food procurement and GPO industries, developing proactive strategies accordingly.

Seek opportunities for strategic partnerships, innovation, and revenue generation within food procurement.

Act as an ambassador for the enterprise, promoting positive relationships and partnership opportunities.

Collaborate with other segments of the GPO or broader enterprise to capitalize on synergies.

Possesses developed interpersonal skills to work in a high-profile role and in fast-paced environment.

Proficient with a personal computer and the use of MSOffice applications.

Status:Position will be virtual (work from home) in an office-like environment with business casual attire.

Education:Bachelor’s degree is required; Master’s degree a plus.

Experience:15+ years experience in food procurement, GPO, Contracting and/or other related fields. Experience with large-scale food service operations and supply chain activities a plus.

Certifications and/or Licensure:Designations such as MBA or relevant industry certifications are welcomed, but not required.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:May require prolonged sitting, some bending, stooping and stretching. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, printer, telephone, calculator and other office equipment. Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare and communicate appropriate reports. Some lifting of material up to 10-15 pounds may be required. Position is work from home, but in an office environment. Work may be stressful at times and contact may involve dealing with angry or difficult people. Staff must remain flexible and available to provide staffing assistance for any/all disaster or emergency situations.
