Vice Chancellor/ Chief Academic Officer

State University System Of Florida, Tallahassee, Florida, us, 32318

Description:The State University System of Florida invites nominations and applications for the position of Vice Chancellor / Chief Academic Officer. America’s top-ranked higher education system since 2017, The State University System of Florida is one of the nation’s largest university systems, comprised of 12 institutions — ranging from a nationally-ranked liberal arts college to top-ranked comprehensive research universities — and serves more than 430,000 students.

The Florida Board of Governors is the constitutionally created body that oversees the System, ensuring its well-planned coordination and operation. The 17-member Board appoints a Chancellor who serves as the chief executive and administrative officer of the System. The Vice Chancellor reports directly to the Chancellor and provides leadership, management, and direction relative to the Academic and Student Affairs (ASA) Office — the unit responsible for providing leadership and coordination via collaborative policy development, strategic planning, analysis, and research for academic, student, research, and economic development issues that affect the System.

The Chancellor is seeking a dynamic academic leader committed to fostering a culture of academic excellence, with a strong understanding of contemporary and emerging issues in higher education, who values intellectual diversity, is committed to civil discourse, is actively engaged with national associations in the fields of public policy and administration — balancing an ability to manage high-level, system-wide issues while contributing to critical deliverables such as the annual Accountability Plans. The Vice Chancellor works closely with the Board of Governors and key university leaders, as well as other educational, governmental, and community partners, to address concerns and opportunities that rise to a System level of interest.
