Baystate Medical CenterBaystate Medical Center, home to Baystate Health, a nonprofit integrated health care system and the University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School-Baystate, is seeking a Vice Chair of Psychiatry Education to join the Department of Psychiatry at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, Massachusetts.
Vice Chair of Education, Psychiatry Responsibilities:
The Vice Chair of Education is a combined clinical and administrative role. Provide leadership support to Program Directors of General Psychiatry, Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, and Consult-Liaison. Oversees all Psychiatry clinical education programs and UMass Chan medical students, 16 Psychiatry residents, Consult-Liaison Fellows & Child & Adolescent fellows rotating through service.
The Vice Chair of Education reports to the Chair of Psychiatry and partners with all of the faculty and GME colleagues in guiding the development of the education programs. Each educational program and clerkship has its own director who reports to the Vice Chair in their educational leadership role. The Vice Chair will be eligible for a faculty appointment in the department of psychiatry for UMass Chan Medical School-Baystate. The psychiatry department includes a full range of clinical services including Inpatient, Partial Hospital, Outpatient, Consultation-Liaison, Emergency Psychiatry, and Integrated Behavioral Health Services that serve as clinical training sites for the educational programs.
The Vice Chair actively promotes initiatives to ensure a culture of safety, continuous quality improvement, diversity and equity, team member engagement and resilience, professional development, and academic excellence for our educational programs.

Qualifications:BC General Psychiatry. Candidates will have a minimum of 6 years of experience post-training, prior experience in clinical education program leadership (Residency or fellowship program director, med student clerkship director, or equivalent).
