The hospital offers a comprehensive range of services, including advanced cardiology, neurology, surgery and more.Job Description:The Director of Risk Management is responsible for the ongoing, effective operation of various patient safety and risk management activities. Such responsibilities include but are not limited to: performance and oversight of the claim management functions including investigation and analysis, performance of risk assessments including new services, performance of root cause analysis for the system including action plan tracking and facilitation, and management of the Patient Safety Council with incorporation of the corporate TERM program into the overall risk management program. Works collaboratively with department directors and the executive team to implement Corporate and Facility risk reduction strategies. Provides expertise to regulatory and compliance standards and processes. Position entails data analysis, reporting, educating, providing leadership and being accountable for related activities.Job Requirements:Education:Bachelor's degree from an accredited College or University in related field required. Master's degree from an accredited College or University in related field preferred.Experience:Two (2) to Five (5) years Risk Management experience; acute care experience preferred. Minimum three (3) years leadership experience in related field preferred.Technical Skills:Computer proficiency to include at a minimum Microsoft Word, EXCEL, and Outlook, and hospital software programs, as applicable.License/Certification:Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM) preferred.Other Skills and Abilities:Demonstrates knowledge and ensures compliance with The Joint Commission. Demonstrates compliance with hospital policies and procedures at all times. Demonstrates strong leadership, organization, communication, and interpersonal skills. Demonstrates ability to relate to clinical personnel and medical staff, as well as ability to interact well with the public. Must have knowledge of PC and applications. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. Thorough knowledge of hospital policies and procedures. Application of techniques such as RCA, FMEA and other quality tools. Must possess a detailed, in-depth knowledge of the principles of regulations, and standards to meet hospital, licensing, and accreditation. Knowledgeable regarding Joint Commission Standards and CMS/DHS Regulations. Understanding of statistical analysis. Six Sigma ('Lean') knowledge preferred.Reasoning Ability:Intermediate to High Skills: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.Salary:Starting from $99,510.00 to $131,851.00 a year
