Associate Executive DirectorSalary:
$70,000.00Job Description:The Associate Executive Director creates and maintains a supportive, positive atmosphere that welcomes and respects all individuals, promotes the potential of all, and provides a quality experience to our community. As a Y leader, this position oversees the department operations of a Y branch, including membership, healthy living, aquatics, early learning, school age enrichment, summer camp, and facility excellence. The ideal candidate will build and support strong programs that support community needs while leading branch teams of engaged cause driven leaders.This position provides leadership to the YMCA Alexandria's team members, creates meaningful high quality experiences and ensures successful daily operations of the branch. Your leadership skills, strong organizational abilities, and commitment to the Y’s mission will be essential to the success of this role.Responsibilities:Work with Executive Director to develop, implement and manage operating plans that promote program and membership growth for the Y.Provide leadership and direction to staff members, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.Ensure the delivery of high-quality programs and services that align with the Y’s mission and meet the needs of the community.Continuously evaluate the scope of programs to identify new opportunities to grow existing programs and create new programs that serve the needs of our members and program participants.Build a culture of high program quality and experience in all assigned areas.Create and embrace a diverse and inclusive Y community to increase our local impact.Lead direct reports to create a cause driven, interdependent, and unified team.Recruit, hire, train and supervise highly-skilled cause driven leaders.Oversee budgeting and financial management, ensuring responsible fiscal practices and resource allocation.Participate in fundraising activities and initiatives to support the Y’s financial sustainability.Qualifications:Previous leadership experience at a YMCA or similar non-profit organization strongly preferred.Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.5 or more years of experience supervising staff and leading program areas.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Success leading teams and individuals.Facility management experience.Strong customer service skills and ability to create a customer focused culture.The Y provides an exciting and collaborative work environment and an extensive benefits package including:10% employer-funded retirement plan.403(b) and ROTH employee retirement savings plan.High quality healthcare with employer contribution.Free YMCA membership for you and your family.A generous paid time off package.Numerous professional development opportunities.Reduced rates for childcare and other Y programs.Employer paid life and disability insurance.Access to numerous supplemental benefit plans including pet insurance, critical illness insurance, legal insurance, enhanced vision plans, and family life insurance.Join the Y today!
