WSP is currently initiating a search for a

Full-Time Geotechnical & Tunneling Engineer

for our

San Francisco, CA

Your Impact

Lead and perform geotechnical engineering analysis and design for infrastructure projects around the country and locally, including work for tunnels, bridge & building foundations, highways, slopes and embankments.

Plan and manage subsurface investigations for roadway, bridge, tunnel and building projects, and subsequently prepare various types of geotechnical reports including baseline reports, interpretive reports and data reports.

Manage various levels of geotechnical and underground staff.

Apply high-level geotechnical engineering techniques and processes to identify improvements for various infrastructure project phases including concept development, preliminary design, final design, procurement, construction, and operation.

Apply sound engineering judgement on geotechnical and underground portions of construction projects to provide meaningful design and construction reviews and inspections.

Develop construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates for underground and foundation aspects of infrastructure projects.

Oversee and monitor cross-functional teams of engineers, planners, and scientific professionals to execute project work on multiple concurrent projects.

Interact with regulatory agencies, subcontractors, drillers, and clients in a confident and professional manner.

Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to prepare competitive proposals for a wide range of WSP proposals.

Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering with Geotechnical Engineering focus

7+ years of relevant experience in geotechnical engineering

United States PE registration with the ability to obtain various state licensures via reciprocity

Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures

Effective self-leadership with attention to detail, results orientation, and managing multiple priorities in a dynamic work environment

Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, follow instruction, work independently, and comply with company policies

Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s Degree in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering

Compensation:

Expected Salary: $125,510 - $150,000

WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.
