Essential Job Functions:
Provides regular updates and presentation materials for inclusion in reports for university leadership, and the Audit and Compliance Committee of the Board of Trustees.
Assists with the day-to-day management of the University Compliance Program.
Assists with the creation and maintenance of an effective compliance education and communication program for the university, including promoting use of the Ethics and Compliance Reporting Hotline System, and awareness of the Employee Code of Ethical Conduct.
Assists with the continuous improvement of the University Compliance Program involving the compliance partners/high-risk compliance areas across the university, including participation in program self-assessments and external reviews.
Monitors and triages allegations of non-compliance and maintains compliance records of the Ethics and Compliance Reporting Hotline System, and prepares reports which include corrective actions if deemed necessary, and recommendations of mitigation of future risks, as appropriate.
Assists university leadership of the compliance partners/designated high-risk compliance areas with the development of internal policies and procedures.
Assists with the design and documentation of high-risk compliance area risk assessments and internal controls to support compliance policies related to compliance concerns.
Coordinates with university leadership, the Vice President for Compliance and legal counsel, as applicable, regarding the proper reporting of confirmed compliance violations.
Assists with the development and implementation of a multi-year strategic program and a corresponding set of strategic goals.
Assist and facilitate with the non-technical oversight, development and maintenance of the university’s policy and procedure creation and approval process within the university-wide policy repository by partnering with policy owners.
Conduct periodic internal compliance risk assessments within the high-risk compliance areas.
Assists leadership of the compliance partners/designated high-risk compliance areas facilitate risk mitigation through policy development, process improvement, and education.
Participates in special projects as assigned.
Performs other duties as assigned or required.
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Knowledge:
Knowledge and understanding of university policies and procedures and the regulatory environment in which they operate.
Highly effective written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with senior administration, faculty, staff, and students.
Experience with tools/systems that support major compliance areas such as: basic computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite, case management systems and Excel.
English Language - General knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
Experience using and applying process improvement best practices/techniques.

Juris Doctor Degree.
Experience in higher education or academic medical center setting.
Experience in elements of effective compliance programs.
Experience in a communication and/or training role.
