Who you are:

Current licensure by the California Board of Registered Nursing, preferably BSN-prepared

Three years of supervisory experience is required

Two to five years of long-term care community health, geriatric, and/or rehabilitative nursing experience preferred

A working knowledge of current state and federal regulations governing skilled nursing facilities

Certification as a Director of Nursing Administrator in long-term care preferred

Job Summary:

The Director of Nursing plans, organizes, develops, and evaluates the overall operation of the Nursing Services Department in accordance with the current state and federal regulations. Maintains current standards of nursing practice. Implements facility policies, procedures, and management systems. Coordinates nursing services with community agencies, physicians, families, residents, consultants, ancillary service providers, and other department personnel within the facility. Promotes quality resident care delivery by all providers and assures regulatory compliance related to nursing issues in the SNF.

Essential Job Duties:

Responsible for recruiting, hiring, counseling, coaching, conducting investigations, evaluating, and terminating staff for the department as per facility policies and procedures. Makes recommendations for terminating as appropriate (to HR, Administrator, and/or Executive Director). Conducts annual performance reviews of department personnel.

Supervises the provision of health care services and programs to residents in the Health Center.

Coordinates resident admissions, transfers, and discharges with other departments and community agencies.

Supervises resident interdisciplinary care plan conferences and attends as appropriate. Supervises documentation in resident health records and reviews scheduled audits.

Provides professional management skills to state and federal survey processes following up with writing and implementing plans of correction.

Oversees facility infection control program.

Oversees MDS and is knowledgeable about the MDS role and responsibilities.

Monitors the safety of residents and employees by reviewing and investigating all incidents.

Assumes a proactive role in resolving resident issues & concerns related to assigned areas of responsibility.

Salary: $148,000+ Annually
