The Commerce, Growth & Identity (CGI) team is dedicated to three business-critical areas at Disney that will help transform its media business. They create seamless user experiences for consumers who can choose from a wide range of subscription plans, enabling more choice and flexibility. The CGI team is also focused on building innovative and pioneering capabilities that will drive subscriptions, engagement, and monetization across Disney’s streaming and digital products.Job SummaryWe’re seeking a Manager, Product Management – Commerce Performance & Insights to create strategies and solutions for improving the performance of our commerce systems. This large scale, distributed systems include a payments system that processes billions of dollars of transactions annually, a fraud system that can provide threat assessment under 20MS, a Pay-Per-View system that enables purchasing of hundreds of Live products per second and so many more. Also, you will track commerce KPIs, and provide insights into the commerce performance and measures to the executive leadership. Additionally, in this highly visible role, you’ll be providing direct leadership to a team of junior leaders, and work cross-functionally with product managers, engineers, data scientists, etc.Our Commerce, Growth & Identity systems at Disney Entertainment have experienced tremendous growth - supporting over 80 countries and 20+ currencies. Yet, we’re still early on our mission to provide entertainment around the world and project significant growth ahead. Being part of a driven and enthusiastic team of growing products and product managers, you will get to make a direct material impact on the future of The Walt Disney Company.ResponsibilitiesDesign and build capabilities/tools for real-time and offline monitoring of core systems.
Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and data scientists to deliver insights and recommendations to improve the performance of core systems and support product decision-making.
Partner with engineering teams to identify, troubleshoot and resolve incidents, and restore system health.
Implement and manage monitoring systems for new product launches, ensuring real-time visibility into key performance metrics and quickly identifying potential issues.
Make decisions both independently and in concert with other teams while balancing collaboration and push-back as needed.
Serve as a thought leader and trusted authority in the domain contribute to the overall data strategy of the organization, ensuring that our practices align with CGI’s business goals.
Participate in interview loops, influence hiring decisions, and coach and mentor junior team members.
Fill in gaps across roles and functions as needed, performing as an adaptive problem solver, a creative builder and a morale-boosting leader.
Basic QualificationsA minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience in analytics, data science, or product management. Experience with direct-to-consumer, ecommerce, fintech and/or subscription services in domestic and international markets is preferred.
You have a Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent work experience.
You have a proven track record of successfully working with key stakeholders to provide insights that drive the business forward.
Advanced proficiency in SQL and/or Python, or R for data analysis and automation and familiarity with ETL processes and data pipeline management.
Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and experience with Snowflake/AWS/Azure or similar platforms.
You have experience with development of visualization tools such as Looker and Tableau.
You have a track record of inspiring, motivating, and mentoring or training at least 1 direct-report or junior team member and cross-functional partners (product managers, engineers, data scientists etc.) working alongside you.
You communicate exceptionally well - from small group discussions to large group presentations, and through strong product memos that help drive alignment across multiple teams.
The hiring range for this position in Glendale, CA and Santa Monica, CA and Bristol, CT is $164,500 to $220,600 per year, in Seattle, WA and New York, NY is $172,300 to $231,100 per year, in San Francisco, CA is $180,200 to $241,600 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
