The Georgetown University School of Nursing (GUSON) seeks tenure eligible faculty for a 12-month full-time campus based nursing faculty position at the rank of Associate Professor or Full Professor and shares a commitment to the mission, vision and core values of the greater university and the GUSON.We seek faculty who share our vision of preparing nurse leaders to advance social justice, dismantle oppressive conditions, promote health equity for all, and shape the future of nursing. This will be achieved through the pursuit of excellence, innovation, critical consciousness and leadership in education, practice, research, scholarship, and service.GUSON welcomes candidates who are prepared to exercise leadership in contributing to the school’s strategic priorities including building excellence in research, as well as our commitments to diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging and antiracism.A demonstrated body of work that aligns with the GUSON mission, vision, and commitment to antiracism and social justice is central to the requirements of the candidate.The workload allocation consists of 50% effort dedicated to research, 40% teaching, and 10% service. Faculty responsibilities also include service to the University, including contributing to related graduate program instruction, advising students in research, serving on assigned committees, and engaging in scholarly activities.The successful candidate will demonstrate support for diversity, equity, inclusiveness and antiracism as well as participate in maintaining a respectful, positive work environment at GUSON.Responsibilities of the Position:Contribute to the advancement of nursing science through a well-developed area of research and scholarshipTeach and advise graduate and/or undergraduate students, and participate in the development and evaluation of nursing curriculaEngage in community and professional service associated with their area of expertiseParticipate in GUSON governance activitiesThis position reports to the PhD Program Director.RequirementsEarned Doctorate (PhD or equivalent) in Nursing or other related fieldHold a master’s degree in nursing if the terminal degree is not in nursing.Eligibility for RN licensure in the District of Columbia (DC)Ability to meet criteria for appointment as a professor or associate professor with tenure at GUSON (see Georgetown University, SON APT guidelines)ResearchHave an active body of scholarship and research consistent with tenure track expectations for the eligible rankHave an active program of externally funded research as a principal investigator (e.g., foundation, NIH, HRSA)Demonstrated record of peer reviewed publications commensurate with rankExperience in developing successful research programs and research teamsTeaching ExperienceTeaching experience with positive, supporting evaluation data and evidence of well-developed areas of expertiseExperienced in teaching and advising graduate students, including serving on dissertation committeesHave experience teaching in a campus based and hybrid educational formatsInterested candidates should submit:A current CVCover Letter detailing your interests in the position, teaching experience and area(s) of researchDiversity StatementContact information for 3 references
