Shockwave Medical aims to establish a new standard of care for medical device treatment of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease through its differentiated and proprietary local delivery of sonic pressure waves for the treatment of calcified plaque.Position OverviewResponsible for the Program Management Office (PMO) which includes all program management associated with Technology development projects and other business critical projects as needed. This role includes functional management responsibilities for Project Managers with individual responsibility over Early-Stage Development (ESD) and Incubator (INC) Technology Development Portfolios. The Director of Program Management (Technology Development) will work with functional leaders within the organization to facilitate the creation of portfolio plans, projects, resources and budgets necessary to execute the programs. Ensures all programs have adequate program plans such that they are executed on time, within budget and consistent with company's goals.Essential Job FunctionsFunctional management responsibilities for the Technology Development portion of the PMO, including mentoring and developing of all relevant staff and plans to grow the group.Ensure adequate staffing for execution of both ESD and INC projects.Partner with functional leads to ensure appropriate resources have been identified to complete company goals and objectives.Partner with finance team and functional leads to determine budgets necessary for completion of approved projects.Partner with marketing in the resource and schedule evaluation and integration into corporate product portfolio as appropriate.Ensure appropriate visibility into the progress of major programs/projects across functions and levels, including the executive level - leadership of the Governance boards for Technology Development.Facilitate business trade-off decisions and project reprioritization as required.Identify and implement best practices for program management.Collaborate with stakeholders to design and execute organizational process improvements.Be committed to the development and improvement of critical systems and processes.As needed, coordinate and participate in events, which provide feedback such as physician interface meetings and clinical studies.Other duties as needed.RequirementsMinimum of 15 years of experience in medical device development, including experience in leadership roles in all phases of product development.Minimum of 5 years of direct management experience.Experience running a PMO in a complex and high-growth environment, broad- and expert-level program/project management capabilities preferred.Program Management Professional (PMP) certification highly preferred.Experience with disposable medical device development preferably vascular catheters and technology experience highly preferred.Experience taking a product from concept through clinical.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.Demonstrated track record of establishing priorities and meeting deadlines.High level of enthusiasm, motivation, and drive for results.Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, adept at navigating organizational challenges and possess ability to work with others and accomplish objectives.Ability to establish personal credibility and build trust quickly.Employee may be required to lift objects up to 25lbs.Market Range:
