Job Title: Associate Director, Commercial DataLocation: Boston or DallasThe Associate Director, Commercial Data is responsible and accountable for providing and maintaining governance, structure and access to Galderma’s US commercial data for assigned business units. This role will manage commercial data as an asset, maximize the investment in data and establish enterprise trust in the business units’ data. This role will also serve to manage and maintain business units’ full commercial data solution inclusive of data warehouse, business applications, channel data aggregation, master data management and consent and preference management capabilities.
This role will partner with cross-functional stakeholders to build effective plans, execute on key deliverables and effectively report findings in a timely manner. This role must demonstrate the ability to work independently with a proactive approach to meet business needs and deadlines but also remain connected to the rest of the functional teams.
Essential Functions:
Develop and implement data strategies to improve commercial data creation, ingestion, processing, mastering, storage and consumption.
Work closely with the cross-functional stakeholders to create, define, and document business data logic and KPIs.
Optimize data management and collection activity by establishing consistent, predictable processes, methodologies and standards.
Own master data management, data governance and data standardization capabilities and processes.
Oversee external data management vendors inclusive of key performance indicators, metrics, program level deliverables, timelines and budget.
Identify and evaluate new datasets that further commercial objectives on market and brand analysis, assessment and monitoring.
Keep current with and leverage new “fit for purpose” tools/technology (e.g. AI) to maximize data value.
Conduct frequent audits to ensure accuracy of all data.
Maintain current knowledge of relevant issues related to data management and recommend and deploy risk mitigation strategies.
Effectively manage budget and optimize resources, change management, and overall project leadership.
Minimum Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
8+ years management level experience in data management, data warehousing, analytics and relevant business intelligence in the bio-technology or pharmaceutical industry.
Experience with a variety of data management and ETL software packages (e.g. Snowflake, Oracle, AWS, etc.).
Experience with analytical architectural concepts, including visualization, dashboards, advanced analytics, cloud analytics, big data.
Demonstrated high resilience and agility as well as a keen analytical mindset, curiosity, and ability to proactively anticipate points of confusion.
Proven experience communicating complex concepts and plans in a simple and clear manner.
Experience effectively collaborating within a matrix environment and with colleagues across functions and geographies.
Results-oriented creative thinker who is viewed as a collaborative strategic business partner with an ability to influence without authority.
Detail-oriented, self-starter, able to work both independently and in a team environment.
Excellent communication skills to interpret and convey data into a simple, compelling story both verbally and in writing.
Demonstrated excellence in project management and effectively manage multiple demands from multiple stakeholders with a sense of urgency.
