The System Safety Engineering Team within Lockheed Martin Space, has an exciting mid-career opportunity for a Software Safety Engineer at our Denver facility. This position merges your Software Engineering Skillset with your Systems Engineering Skillset in support of the System Safety Engineering goals.
In this role, you will use your expertise to ensure that safety is crafted into software and eventually hardware products and that controls are incorporated and remain effective while assuring compliance to safety requirements.
Your diverse array of responsibilities include:Generation and maintenance Software Safety Program Plans (SSPP) including SW Level of Rigor (LOR)Defining hardware/software safety requirements and ensuring flow-down into the Systems Engineering SW processAssist in performing a variety of hazard analyses across the full product life cycle, to include Preliminary Hazard List (PHL), Preliminary Hazard Analysis (PHA), Subsystem Hazard Analysis (SSHA), System Hazard Analysis (SHA), Operating and Support Hazard Analysis (O&SHA), Functional Hazard Analysis (FHA), and Software Safety Hazard AnalysisAssist in reviewing engineering design specifications, SW development, change proposals, deficiency reports, and deviation/waiver requests for safety impactsSupport SW integration and qualification testingParticipate in incident investigations and root cause/corrective action analysesAssist in preparation of presentations, analyses, and reports for government safety boards, program design reviews, and test/mission readiness reviewsThere may be some travel associated with this role to support program needs

9x80 every other Friday offPay Rate:The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Washington or Washington DC is $85,900 - $164,600 . Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
