ABOUT THIS POSITIONWaystar is seeking a Sr. Instructional Designer to provide learning design and development needs within our organization. Waystar, a leading revenue cycle management software company, as our Sr. Instructional Designer within the Learning and Development team. In this crucial role, you will lead the creation and implementation of innovative learning solutions that enhance our team members’ skills and knowledge. Your deep understanding of adult learning principles will guide the development of both engaging instructor-led workshops and advanced e-learning platforms, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and cutting-edge educational practices.WHAT YOU'LL DOPerform thorough needs assessments to identify training requirements and define educational goals through learner observation, leadership, SME, and learner interviews.Develop structured educational curricula that are interactive, apply adult learning concepts, and are designed to align with company strategies and enhance operational efficiency.Design and develop training programs that meet the needs of our team members.Craft engaging, effective, and innovative instructional materials for classroom and online platforms.Create engaging and effective blended learning materials by integrating the latest e-learning technologies and methodologies to enhance the learning experience and improve engagement.Analyze, update, and refine existing content.Craft experiential learning activities to support learned skills in practice activities, assignments, and coaching guidelines for leadership support.Engage closely with SMEs to ensure the accuracy and relevance of course content. Facilitate knowledge-sharing sessions that convert complex information into learner-friendly formats while respecting the principles of adult learning.Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through Kirkpatrick’s methods of evaluation.Stay up to date on the latest trends in learning and instructional design.WHAT YOU'LL NEEDBachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or a related field required, Master’s degree preferred.5+ years of experience in instructional design, particularly in creating engaging and interactive instructor-led and e-learning content.Proficiency with common authoring tools (e.g., Articulate, Articulate RISE, Camtasia, Vyond), light amounts of graphic design (e.g. Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud), and learning management software (e.g. Docebo, Cornerstone).Strong understanding of instructional design principles and methods.Excellent communication and presentation skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team; high level of collaboration skill and task orientation required with end-to-end project ownership in a multi-stakeholder culture.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the capability to use data to inform decisions and improve training outcomes.Innovative Thinking and a passion for learning and development, with a commitment to adopting innovative approaches and technologies to enhance educational experiences.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Attention to detail.Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment.Ability to handle and maintain confidentiality with sensitive HR data.WAYSTAR PERKSCompetitive total rewards (base salary + bonus, if applicable).Customizable benefits package (3 medical plans with Health Saving Account company match).Generous paid time off starting at 3 weeks + 13 paid holidays including 2 personal floating holidays.Paid parental leave (including maternity + paternity leave).Education assistance opportunities and free LinkedIn Learning access.Free mental health and family planning programs, including adoption assistance and fertility support.401(K) program with company match.Pet insurance.Employee resource groups.Waystar is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace.
