Job SummaryAs a part of the communications team within Chicago Booth’s Office of Advancement, the Assistant Director, Content Communications, supports Advancement Communications’ mission to activate, motivate, and inspire the Department’s core audiences (alumni, donors, volunteers) to engage with and invest in Booth. This position plays a key role in leadership communications by producing and editing correspondence on behalf of the chief advancement officer and supporting the Dean’s communications, including managing correspondence requests and editing the dean’s acknowledgments. This role also occasionally writes profiles and stories about alumni, donors, and volunteers.

Responsibilities

Serves as the primary content point for all Advancement-driven event marketing content needs.

Supports leadership correspondence for chief advancement officer and the dean.

Makes content updates across Booth Advancement website as needed.

Collaborates with Booth Marketing on content for Chicago Booth Magazine and other alumni/donor stories.

Practices a standard of communication that is uniform and consistent with the school’s branding.

Orchestrates efficient processes to facilitate marketing and communications projects.

Partners with colleagues to execute on Advancement’s storytelling approach.

Plans, develops, and disseminates information to keep the public informed of the organization's programs and accomplishments.

Accomplishes assigned duties through written communications and visual/graphic media.

Performs other related work as needed.

Minimum QualificationsEducation:

Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in a related field.

Work Experience:

Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through 2-5 years of work experience in a related job discipline.

Preferred QualificationsExperience:

Working in higher education.

Experience with multiple communication mediums and methods.

Technical Skills or Knowledge:

Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).

Preferred Competencies:

Outstanding interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills.

Skills in assessing quality of visual communications.

Flexibility and adaptability to work with new programs.

Ability to work independently with little supervision.

Excellent attention to detail and editorial skills.

Ability to handle multiple tasks/projects simultaneously and meet strict deadlines.

Ability to work effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.

Professional demeanor, including tact and discretion.

Working Conditions

This position is expected to work a minimum of three days per week in the office.
