We support IT organizations by bringing precision technology and operation models that achieve mission capabilities and performance success.Position Description:We are seeking a Business Development Strategist who is responsible for conducting in-depth market research, gathering competitive intelligence, and providing strategic insights to support the business development strategy. Actively contributes to the growth, business development, and capture process by identifying opportunities and collaborating on strategies aligned with organizational goals. Assist with developing teaming strategies, engaging partners, and driving partnerships for federal contracts. Manages white paper and content development, ensuring thought leadership and proposal alignment with client requirements. Coordinates with cross-functional teams, conducts risk management, and leads continuous improvement through post-capture analysis for overall role success.Duties and Responsibilities:Capture:Assist the Capture Managers in contributing to the capture process, by identifying customer objectives, goals, and desired outcomes to fuel the shaping and positioning of an opportunity.Conduct thorough competitive intelligence gathering to inform and enhance the proposal decision-making process, ensuring strategic positioning and alignment with market trends.Collaborate to provide insight & research to develop and implement capture strategies aligned with organizational goals.Collaborate with cross-functional capture teams to ensure a coordinated approach to securing new contracts.

Business Development Research:Collaborate with Growth to develop pipeline and develop reports for the purposes of presenting to the C-Suite.Track growth and pursuit decisions that the C-Suite leadership team make and follow up with them.Conduct and report on in-depth market research to identify trends, opportunities, and potential risks.Gather competitive intelligence and provide strategic insights to support business development and capture initiatives.Collaborate with capture teams to understand client needs and help shape capture strategies.

Risk Management and Performance Measurement:Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with the capture process.Collect and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) for the growth team.Conduct post-capture analysis to document lessons learned and areas for improvement.

Teaming Strategies:Assist in identifying, developing, and implementing teaming strategies for federal contracts, including identifying and engaging with potential partners.Drive partnerships with organizations that achieve a delicate balance, combining a proven track record of successful past performances with a strategic alignment to our capabilities, thereby enhancing and fortifying our overall business proposition.

White Paper and Content Development:Research and support the development of insightful white papers or responses to RFIs and/or Source Sought (SS) showcasing thought leadership.Collaborate with subject matter experts to translate technical concepts by aligning with identified customer needs and objectives based on research and insight gained. Assist in the creation of storyboards to outline proposal structures and content flow.

Proposal Development:Support adherence to the Shipley BD process leveraging the insight gained regarding the customer or agency throughout the proposal development lifecycle.

Collaboration and Team Management:Coordinate and lead cross-functional teams throughout the capture and proposal processes.Work closely with business development and capture teams, subject matter experts, and other stakeholders to ensure a cohesive approach.Represent LCG through stakeholder engagement at industry specific events, promoting our success, past performance, and brand.

Requirements :Proactive, Resourceful and GovCon knowledgeable7+ yrs of Industry relationships that will support partner identification and engagement, driving partnerships with organizations aligning past performances and strategic capabilities.Previous experience conducting market analysis and research in a federal condratcting environment.Executing strategies that enhance overall business propositions through strategic teaming.Understanding of the complete capture process, from opportunity identification to proposal submission.Collaboration in developing and implementing capture strategies aligned with organizational goals.Collaborative approach for securing new contracts through coordinated efforts.In-depth understanding of market research methodologies for identifying trends, opportunities, and risks.Competitive intelligence gathering and providing strategic insights for business development.Collaborative skills to shape capture strategies based on client needs.Familiarity with white paper development and content creation principles.Research skills for developing insightful white papers and assisting in creating storyboards for proposals.Contributing to proposal structures and content flow to enhance overall proposal quality.Understanding collaborative approaches and team management in the context of capture and proposal processes.Coordination and leadership skills for working with cross-functional teams.Knowledgeable adherence to the Shipley BD process, addressing challenges, identifying, and mitigating risks, and ensuring continuous improvement.Understanding of KPIs for the capture and proposal processes, conducting post-capture analysis for lessons learned and improvement.Bachelor's degree in business, Marketing, English, Communications, or a related field.Proven experience in supporting capture management, business development, proposal writing, and research, with a focus on federal contracts.Strong understanding of the FAR, federal contracting processes and regulations.Excellent writing, editing, communication, and proofreading skills.Strategic thinking, analytical skills, and ability to manage multiple federal contract opportunities simultaneously.

Compensation and BenefitsThe projected compensation range for this position is $98,500 to $132,000 per year benchmarked in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. The target salary for this role is $116,400. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. Salary at LCG is determined by various factors, including but not limited to role, location, the combination of education/training, knowledge, skills, competencies, certifications, and work experience.
