Senior Electronic Design Engineer - ECUs

Job Overview:

We are currently seeking a driven, energetic individual to join CelLink as a Senior Electronic Design Engineer. This position requires an experienced professional with a background in automotive ECU electronics design with a track record of successfully bringing new automotive electronic control hardware systems into production.

Position will be based in San Carlos CA, Georgetown TX, or Wixom MI with occasional travel (~10%) to CelLink locations and customers around the globe.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Lead development and design of ECUs (hardware, electronics, and electrical).

Responsible for the design of the ECU hardware from schematic capture, PCB layout and design, board bring-up, debug, design verification testing, signal timing and signal integrity qualification, thermal and environment related testing, EMC/EMI testing, manufacturing support, and production deployment.

Drive the concept design, prototyping, engineering, testing, manufacture, release, and launch of ECUs for integration with flexible harnesses.

Support validation testing to complete bench and vehicle level durability, electromagnetic compatibility, etc.

Troubleshoot and root cause, document, and drive to issue resolution.

Participate in design review and xFMEA meetings to ensure lessons learned and best practices are incorporated.

Lead rapid prototype system development in an efficient manner to show proof of concept.

Contribute to the timely delivery of fully validated, high-quality product.

Work closely and effectively communicate with other teams to achieve a seamless and robust vehicle implementation.

Work closely with manufacturing/suppliers to ensure bring-up success and to develop diagnostic tools for production deployment and service.

Drive best practices within the team and deploy world class tools to invent and create new technologies and solutions.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (or related field).

Proven track record of bringing automotive computing / ECU designs into production.

Strong fundamentals in signal and power integrity.

Experience in fault analysis of circuit designs.

Extensive knowledge in EE fundamentals and project experience developing reliable and efficient critical electronics hardware.

Proficient in using schematic capture tools, PCB tools, and SI/PI simulation tools for Board level design.

Proficient in using oscilloscope/spectrum analyzer to analyze high-speed signal, power circuit, etc. to debug board issues.

BOM release, PCB layout oversight, and experience in PCB DFM, DFx for PCB fab/build in manufacture.

Experience with communication protocols such as CAN, LIN Bus, SPI, isoSPI, CAN FD, Ethernet, flexray, USB, etc.

Experience supporting product development/manufacture during DV/PV/SOP phases.

Experience using simulation tools such as MATLAB or PSpice for worst-case circuit analyses.

Experience in software integration a plus.

Deep experience in troubleshooting using hardware and software tools.

Excellent communication skills to collaborate with various internal and external teams.
