What We’ll NeedWe are looking for a corporate attorney with 7+ years of legal experience with international legal compliance, franchising and commercial transactions. The Counsel, International will provide support to, and be a strategic partner for, the Company’s growing international business on a wide range of legal matters. In-house experience for an international franchise business is a plus.

What You’ll DoIn this role, you will:Draft, negotiate and implement international franchise agreements and other commercial arrangements;Prepare required franchise disclosure documents;Collaborate with cross-functional teams including development, human resources, supply chain, marketing, accounting, and international operations to advise business leaders with respect to legal issues and risk management;Review, negotiate and draft a wide range of commercial agreements, including vendor agreements, MSAs, NDAs, SaaS agreements, and data processing agreements;Assist with the creation and maintenance of legal entities globally through collaboration with outside counsel, consultants, and cross-functional stakeholders;Draft international operating manuals and policies;Support implementation of strategic initiatives and innovations, including research into legal and regulatory questions;Contribute to the legal team by identifying and implementing improvements in processes and templates that drive growth within the Company;Identify, analyze and evaluate potential legal and compliance risks; andOther duties and special projects as assigned.

What You’ll NeedAdvanced legal drafting and negotiation skills;High attention to detail;Ability to build strong, collaborative relationships across functional areas;Strong analytical skills with exceptional follow-up and sense of urgency;Excellent organizational, time management and prioritization skills;Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills;Energetic, innovative and flexible;Adaptable with changing priorities and conditions within the Company;Exhibits tenacity meeting goals and determining solutions to meet business challenges;Resourceful, learns quickly and has a thirst for knowledge.

Education And Work ExperienceMinimum 7 years of legal experience in a major law firm and/or in-house legal department;Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school;Active license to practice law in Texas;Strong knowledge of business law, including international law, franchising, contracts, corporate governance, intellectual property, employment law and regulatory compliance.
