Job Title: Intensive Care / Coronary Nurse (ICU) Job Specialty: Intensive Care / Coronary Nurse Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 0630 - 1900 Days / 1830 - 0700 Nights; 6 - 7 shifts per pay period with floating to PACU, ER, and Med/Surg Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum of 3 years License: Must have and maintain a current, valid unrestricted Professional Nursing License (RN) to practice nursing in any state, territory, or the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico Certifications: - Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the American Heart Association (must be completed within 6 months of hire)- Trauma Care After Resuscitation (TCAR) (must be completed within 6 months of hire)- National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) (must be completed within 6 months of hire) Must-Have: - Fingerprinting must be submitted and cleared prior to start- Submission of current immunizations, negative TB skin test proof within the last two years (one within 30 days prior to start)- Documentation of two MMR vaccinations, Tdap, and Flu shot- Clean background check prior to arrival- Current certifications as specified above Job Description: - Provides nursing care to critically ill patients in the Intensive Care Unit and may periodically float to Emergency Department, Med/Surg, or Pediatrics if census is low- Responsible for a variety of nursing care procedures requiring professional knowledge and consideration of specific patient conditions and treatments- Ability to work independently in completing assignments in accordance with doctors' orders, standards of care, and nursing policies- Provision of inpatient care and support in the 5-bed ICU to individuals of all ages and their families- After-hours recovery of post-operative general surgery, pediatric, and OB patients as needed Additional Information: - Orientation is conducted every two weeks- COVID vaccinations are mandatory; medical exemptions require approval from the medical review board- Housing applications must be submitted two weeks prior to start date- Holiday coverage is required
